lowyhong: Oh you're right. Oops. :$
Well, if they get more attention, from Notch, TotalBiscuit and more gaming sites, they might do it, I doubt that though. But if this isn't a game that fits Kickstarter perfectly, then I don't know which one is.

htown1980: this really needs some media coverage..

lowyhong: I think they must be scratching their heads, wondering why they only have 136 backers despite mentions by some of the more popular gaming blogs. Because I sure am. :\
They now have 137. Though I can't spare more than $35 right now, I'm likely to upgrade to the $95(+shipping) tier at the end of the month.

Of course, that doesn't do much to help fill the bucket. I should get the word out, but there are likely others more in touch with the social aspects of the net than I am.

My problem with Mak is that as someone only doing single player, there doesn't seem to be anything for me to do there. It is a sandbox, not a game.

gandalf.nho: Maelorum, an epic Gamebook, a gamebook, looks promising and had a digital version tier Timber and Stone just achieved his 50K minimum goal with 5 days to go.

It's the correct link? This is a Minecraft video and not a gamebook

By the description, this one looks more a RPG sourcebook than a gamebook (a "choose your adventure" style book)

Speachless... Thank you...
I like Wizardry 8, as well as the idea of a new old school rpg by loot drop...
And regarding Grimoire: for me the comparison is more than enough...

To paraphrase:
"They laughed at me... They called me mad... But I'll show them ! I'LL SHOW THEM ALL !"

This guy is either an insane genius and an insufferable douchebag... or just an insufferable douchebag.
His game might end up being decent, but...
How do I put this nicely ? He doesn't sound like the sort of person who would look up to philosophers, respect academics, research humanities. That's fine if you're designing something akin to chess, less fine when you're dealing with as story-reliant a genre as RPGs...

Anybody want to post a thread on Distance? I feel awkward seeing so many threads started by me on the first few pages.
