hedwards: I really shouldn't back that, but as a fan of comics and somebody with an active interest, I'm incredibly tempted to back it anyways as he is a huge figure in the genre and a man of immense range.
I feel the same way, but yeah I'm going to try to make some money before it ends so I can get my hands on this.

Skunk: You might recall that when I joined GOG, I did so with the name "LordKuruku"
I've only seen the first movie as of right now, but I do think that he is in the second one. I need to buy that here soon since Discotek Media did a release of those movies.

tarohilt: It's the guy who created Astroboy and founder of anime!

OTOH, international shipping is quite pricey. $60 for rewards above $45 tier.
Yeah Tezuka is quite the cool dude, at this point I've read through a little of his manga and seen a few of the movies based on his work. As of right now I've been enjoying Black Jack like crazy.

Also yeah the international shipping is pretty pricey.

MoP: Time for a "Creators of" segment:

Creator of the Flash point'n'click Reincarnation games is trying to fund a full-fledged adventure game in the series.
Reincarnation: The Root of All Evil

"Descent-inspired six-axis shooter" from the creators of Sol Survivor:
Retrovirus

Oops, I'm late by like, and [url=http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/what_kickstarter_projects_are_worth_taking_note_of/post973]weeks, my bad... You've posted about adding those lowyhong, but they're not in the OP?
Weird, I thought I added those already.

Ok I've added Retrovirus, Reincarnation, Reversion and the Unico English project.
Everyone Kickstarted out? Havent bothered to check this thread or KS for a few days. Anything exciting?
Well, some great projects are still ongoing.
Dead State just reached his first stretch goal with $183K and 9 days to go.

And I'm curious about Jack Houston and the Necronauts.
Pitched as a Graphic adventure, developers plan to use stop-motion to create a point&click game with a retro-future setting.
The concept of Jack Houston remind me of Fallout ( ray gun, 13 on the suit and bubble helmet ) and the Kickstarter video hint some Buck Rogers meet The Planet of the Apes design.
With a goal of $56K within 45 days, it might end well for this project.

I've said it before, this game just looks and sounds bloody awesome... although I have no idea how they can to afford those rewards.

I'll throw them an early $15 that I hope I might be able to raise somewhat before the campaign is over.

Of course. This video is parody, I hope nobody took it serious ;).

I know what The Onion is, but unfortunately, a lot of people take it's "news" as real, thus the need for clarification.
No worries though, all is good.

Indeed.
Brian Fargo sent a tweet about that today and I thought it was serious for a second.

+1

Seriously I'm wondering why I overlooked this project on IndieGoGo and now found it bloody awesome as you said....
Maybe I'm too Kickstarter-centric :D
The amount of money they are trying to raise for Jack Houston and the Necronauts is surprisingly small - only $56,000. I don't understand how they can possibly make the game on such a tiny budget.

Looks like the most expensive stuff, the stop motion animation stuff, is the specialty of the lead developer. He has a special effects studio so I guess it's just materials costs that's included in the budget.

Also, he's probably doing the game coding too since he made Han Solo Adventures and some old shareware title.

Haunts: The Manse Macabre got a one-time pledge of $7000 last night, which puts them over their goal. A desperate effort to get the game funded with bogus credit , or a really generous enthusiast? Time will tell. I'm glad they met their goal though. I don't think they would've had without that one-time pledge, or a huge spike in pledges before the end of the kickstart. They're still under 1000 backers, and had 6000 dollars left to go with nine days left (before the $7000 pledge). And I can tell you they weren't getting too much money each day...on the 21st they actually gained -$10: someone withdrew they pledge (the same thing had happened to them twice before). The project was trending toward ~90% of the goal, according to Kicktraq. Now the trend is 122%, but that's because of the spike. The final numbers will probably revolve around their current amount: I'm guessing 105-110% of goal.

Heh, Hoplomachus lost funding on three days out of four a fortnight ago, so it's not uncommon. It's just reached its first stretch goal though and 2 later stretch goals (bonus counters) are now going to be included.

A $7,000 donation is unusual though - I wonder if Kicking It Forward is coming into play here?

At the other extreme Sedition Wars can't seem to put up new stretch goals fast enough. At the rate they're going, they could give Ogre some competiton. I'd be tempted by this if it wasn't for all the miniatures you'd have to paint (and the goals seem to keep adding more).
