Um, Game of Thrones is HBO, pretty sure that's US.

Do you mean British show or taking place in Britain?
I have no preference.
Blackadder.

Do it.
Never watched Monty Python's Flying Circus? or Blackadder? If not you're definitely in for a treat.

Oh, and Doctor Who, Obviously.

Blackadder would qualify I guess :)

Really liked 'In the Flesh', although don't expect something fast paced or with deep intrigue, it's mostly about the family. Lost some tears on that one :)

"Four years after the Rising, the government starts to rehabilitate the Undead back into the society including teenager Kieren Walker, who returns home to his small Lancashire village to face a hostile reception as well as his own demons. "

Benny Hill!
Lol @ Fawlty Towers, those were good. I think we had those on Betamax back in the day xD
I see you already list Sherlock above. Agatha Christie's Poirot, Agatha Christie's Marple, Jekyll, and Covington Cross perhaps?
Blackadder
Since all the famous ones already got mentioned I'm gonna give a shout out to something more obscure- Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. All 6 epizodes are on youtube and it would only take you an hour to witness this gem of comedy.

If an old sci-fi dystopian bleak future sounds like your thing, Blake's 7. Sadly, I don't think it has ever been available in NTSC, but I did get hold of regionless PAL DVD's I could watch on my computer.
Only Fools and Horses
Also, be sure to check out Black Mirror. It's actually a mini-series, although not really in the traditional sense, seeing as how each of its 6 episodes (3 have been released per season so far) presents its own story, takes place in a different setting, and has its own cast, which results in inconsistencies quality-wise, but it's an incredibly well made series, and when it's really good it's also intelligent and thought-provoking.
