Charge into the weekend with [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/nordic_charge]this selection of all-time greats from Nordic Games, all 50% off this weekend!

Gothic II Gold Edition offers everything that should be present in an adventure RPG--massive and interactive world, non-linear story, excellent atmosphere, lovable and dislikeable NPCs, and finally, the chance to do everything how you please: as a ruthless killer, a protective paladin, or a neutral character. You can play this game over and over again, exploring new possibilities and quests each time (especially with the Night of the Raven expansion bundled). Once you’re done with saving the world, fight more threats and complete more quests in Gothic 3 and Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods. All Gothic titles published by Nordic Games are $4.99, this weekend only.

In case boring games give you headache, Painkiller Black Edition will pump you up with insane amounts of adrenaline, once insane amounts of enemies straight from hell will try (and fail) to stop you from having some fun. Everything about this FPS is great: masterfully designed environments, variety of demonic minions, 14 incredible weapons, including the famous gun that “shoots shurikens with lightning”, and gargantuan boss battles. Black Edition includes Painkiller and expansion pack Battle out of Hell. If Painkiller charged you a cent for every bullet fired, you’d be broke after saying “I haven’t had that much fun since Heretic and Quake”. Fortunately, Painkiller Black Edition is available on GOG.com for only $4.99 until Monday, April 23rd at 11.59 p.m. EDT.

Spellforce: Platinum includes the original Spellforce: The Order of Dawn and both the expansions - Spellforce: The Breath of Winter and Spellforce: Shadow of the Phoenix. Spellforce is a great blend of the action and tactics of an RTS with an immerse role-playing experience. Lead your armies through spectacular battles and experience thrilling adventures. Mixing RTS and RPG may be tricky but Spellforce succeeds on so many levels that two fantastic sequels: Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars and Spellforce 2: Dragon Storm were created and, luckily for gamers, are both available on GOG.com. Get the complete Spellforce collection 50% off, while each of the games is $4.99.

Dark Fall: The Journal and the sequel Dark Fall: Lights Out will provide a few decent scares, especially because both supernatural adventures are available for $2.99 each. If you enjoy military simulations grab Panzer Elite SE, extremely historically accurate simulation with lots upon lots of equipment specifications. The Guild Gold Edition, on the other hand, will train you to use blackmail, kidnapping, sabotage or buying your way into a higher position in the government as means to simple earn some more money. Find out how to become a businessman in the late Middle Ages for $4.99.

Check all the titles from Nordic Games available this week and pick your favorite, but remember that this offer ends next Monday, April 23rd on 11.59 p.m. EDT.

Sashh: Oh, ok. Wanted to check out the series, but tha't not enough pressing to buy it for 10$.

kodeen: Keep in mind that Gothic never goes on sale here (not even during Christmas), so if you want to play it you'll have to bite the bullet and get it full price.
I'm pretty sure that it was during the big Christmas sale that Steam has a really nice promo for all the Gothic games. I picked up Gothic 1 (which they don't sell individually, only in a package), Gothic 2 Gold, Gothic 3, Gothic 3 FG, Gothic 4 and the Gothic 4 expansion (can't remember what it's called right now) - all for around 10 - 12 dollars.

It was the first time I've ever seen Gothic 1 on sale anywhere. Plus I had been wanting to get Gothic 4 (and exp.), so it was an easy decision. I already owned Gothic 2 and 3, but for that price, I couldn't pass on it.

BTW, for those that are wondering about Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods, I'll give my opinion - it stinks. I really enjoyed Gothic 3 (have played it a couple of times)., and I liked the idea of FG using the same locations, with a different story. Unfortunately the story really, really stunk. It was just a bunch of missions thrown together without any real rhyme or reason.

I played it for quite a while, but finally had to give up on it. It just didn't do anything for me.

CowboyBebop: The first thing I thought I heard when I saw The Guild on sale? TheJoe saying "The Guild! On Sale! Buy it NEOW!!"
This.

I wanted to rush in with "not true! I have Gothic and I didn't pay full price!" Turns out it was a gift.
Anyway, still NOT TRUE!
January 16, 2009 - 15% off
June 04, 2009 - 25% off
Extrapolation shows it'll be 85% off this June!.. or not =)

As for the sale - bought G3EE, first game on weekend promo since Christmas I didn't have yet.

Sorry, I should have clarified that I meant on GOG. As Starmaker pointed out, it's not had any sales since 2009, and both of those times were bumpkis.
I too am thinking about Gothic 3. So far from what I've gathered G3FG is out of the question, but I can't decide on G3.
Up until now the only similar game I've played is half of Risen, which I liked quite much. I already have G2 and plan to play soon. G3 is looking really tempting now that's on offer but I can't decide. Any words of wisdom, wise people of GOGdom? How it compares to Risen?

G3 is more like an Elder Scrolls game than it is like Risen, it's truly open world and you get to go where you want and do what you please. Gothic 1 & 2 are similar to Risen with the seperation by chapters, having to choose one faction, etc...

That actually sounds quite appealing. Open world in a vivid environment (according to PB's history) without the Bethesda's shortcomings (level scaling *grrr*) it could be good fun.
Thanks for the reply.
I already have everything bar the Gothic 3 games, so yeah, this isn't the promo for me. But there's a lot of good games on offer here.
What happened to the 30-70% deals depending on how many you ordered? Nordic Charge was on sale here for 70% and could've got the whole lot for under $40. I missed it by an hour 'cause they ended early..was a one day shot..was Pissed. Nordic charge is about the only Fantasy RPG and strategy games that I don't have here on GOG. If I buy the ones I really wanted at the 50% it would be higher then getting all of 'em for 70%. Wish they'd bring that back with the games you own counting towards bringing the scale up.

Nice promo, a large number of games, and of good quality, too. I already own most everything I was interested in from these, but I find it is a great opportunity for others to pick up some very good games.
Hm, I bought “Gothic Universe” last December for 5€ (6,50$) as free downloadable version (no idea if there is some kind of activation, though) from a German download portal named Gamesload. This seems to be the only reasonable edition if you want to have the trilogy and if you want to play it original, i.e. in German.

But maybe some of the other games are also interesting, I need to have a look. :)

OptimusHun: Chaser is on sale third time since released on GOG and - again - in a bad time for me. :(
You're not missing much; I suggest spending your money elsewhere, on almost any of the other FPS games on offer here, even a mess like Second Sight. It is very bland and has little to recommend it, plus a hearty helping of significant design flaws. (My detailed thoughts are the third review here, at the moment: http://www.gog.com/gamecard/chaser#reviews=4 ; the lead review highlights some of the same points.) If you do get it, look through the control configuration to find your adrenaline key - it slows down time, which is incredibly useful and completely left out of the tutorial.
Ahhh another promo to pass up on as I have all of these titles. Until next time GOG, the game is afoot.

That's not an option for those of us who do not, you know... speak german. Like me :)
So while I won't get any game of the Gothic series - at least not this time - I thank GoG for providing them for us.

I am getting Nations and Neighbours from hell, tho. I wanted some silly game to lift the mood.
Now, is alien nations worth buying, since I'll have the sequel?

The Dark fall games interest me, but I'm wondering what the puzzle solving is like. Is it mostly simple and logical, like say Gemini Rue, or is it much more obtuse like say, Myst and Riven? Is there much pixel hunting involved?
