Downloading from Steam right now. Has anyone played it? Looks like WWII Hitman, and the Steam forums have some good reviews for it, so I took the plunge and bought it.
EDIT: Also seems very similar to Thief, for all you Thief fans here (I know at least one here)
2ND EDIT: This one's a clunker!

you had me at velvet ass.
Can you give us a description when you've played it a bit? I've been curious about it but the preview vids make it look more like a brainless shooter than anything that should have the word assassin in the name

I haven't played enough to make a good judgement (my little brother's been pulling me away to play Resident Evil 5, which I hate for some unknown reason), but I'll give you a small rundown of the first and very beginning of the second level.
I sneak up behind a guard and stab him with a knife. Animation looks decent, but for some reason the motion blur is completely screwed up on my computer. Tried everything, and the game runs flawlessly on everything maxed except for the motion blur.
Anyway, I move forward, wait for a conversation to end, sneak up, stab a guy, hide his body, wait until the other comes around, follow him and stab him too. Now I enter what looks like the outside of a base. I sneak around into this open cargo container, and the game tells me to use morphine to alter my memories and make it a little bit easier (Apparently, your character is in a coma, so she switches to her blood-stained nightgown for this part). You have ten seconds to run straight forward and kill the guy in front of you with no consequences. I did this at the beginning of the second level as well, and I just got a gun before I had to quit.
I'll tell you more as I play.
I'm also curious about it, but I hope it will be in retail shops too (I won't buy it from Steam).
Btw I have read that VA uses Steamworks, is it true?

It doesn't use Steamworks, but you register your copy with Steam, if I remember correctly. You can buy it in retail stores, but it still goes into Steam.
UPDATE: Well, I don't know what kind of drugs they take over at the Steam Forums, because this game is flat-out bad. The first level wasn't enough evidence to go on, but the second speaks for what I feel will be the rest of the game. Controls are awful, the sneaking sucks (and that's the focus of the game), and just about every other facet of this game is awful, except for the visuals, when they're working.
STAY FAR AWAY.

Damn that sucks, I was watching youtube vids of a level and it seemed like it was pretty promising. Might have to wait for a demo on the 360
Looks like fun... I'm a sucker for anything remotely WW2-related.

it's a game who's main theme is T&A, besides DOA, what other games have actually delivered on that premise?
can't think of any?
I didn't think so.

For Velvet Assassin, I was waiting this game for it's story. I like games based on real story, but $49.99 price tag for single player only, lineer and short game is really high for me. I will buy it after the price cut.
And if you don't know anything about Violette Szabo you can read from here.

Well, thanks for the advice :P

Scores mean nothing for me. For example Far Cry 2 has good ratings but it is still a crap.
I saw a gameplay video on youtube that had severe motion blur problems so its not just you (if that's of any consolation).
I like the bullet time variation the game has but its too bad they couldn't bring overall quality to an appropriate level. I guess its also the overused topic of ww2 that contributed to it.
