Since steam have a pack with Far Cry, Beyond Good & evil, IL2 and Dark Messiah in a weekend deal pack for just 9.99 euro, cant Gog have that to this weekend please? :D

Mentalepsy: They own the rights to the Might & Magic name, which was previously owned by 3DO, and before that by New World Computing (the developers of the M&M series, who became part of 3DO) - but, I'm not sure if they own the rights to the old M&M games specifically. I'd love to see them here.

Just a vague assumption, but going by the fact that Dark Messiah did not feature the title "Heroes of Might & Magic", simply "Might & Magic", one could assume they do indeed hold the rights to the old titles (if only for title usage).
A long shot, I know, but I figure Ubisoft would have been smart enough to snap up the entire franchise in one go, as I'm sure someone there was intelligent enough to see the potential in selling the old M&M games at some point in the future to nostalgic fans.

I used to be a big fan of STEAM. But with all their false promises of keeping games up to date and basically not caring, GOG.com was a breath of fresh air for me.
I'm gutted for GOG.com that STEAM have taken some of the shine off the new ubisoft catalogue.

There are two explanations for the Steam incident.
1) Ubisoft were in deals with both Steam and GOG to create deep discounts for the old games.
2) Steam is a bunch of twats and they want to throw a bucket of cold water in GOG's face. Basically what they're saying to GOG is that "It's on, bitch." We've got a turf war on our hands.
I'd rather buy from GOG, since I'd rather pay more money for no DRM and support some nice Polish dudes.
Also, I know where I'm going to try and buy my games in the future. It does not have Gabe Newell in it.

Steam has been holding a Ubisoft sale all week. The same week that GOG announced Ubisoft games for sale. I would have to pin the blame on Ubisoft and not Valve for this $9.99 pack. They want to get their games out to more people (can't blame them). As much as I dislike Steam, I really don't think they're trying to cut out GOG. Just yet anyway.

Down the years, Ubi have also bought out: Massive Entertainment, the makers of World in Conflict, so we could see their previous series Ground Control; Reflections, so we could see the original Driver or Destruction Derby; Sunflowers Interactive, the makers of the Anno games; Red Storm, so any and all of the Tom Clancy games may end up on GOG; and as already mentioned Blue Byte (Settlers et all).
Of course this is all speculative, and is subject to Ubi being willing to put these games up at an resonable price, and their not being some weird copyright ownership over these games.

Well, there is one small flaw in Ubi classics pack: Dark Messiah is not Avaiable in 120 countries (there are approximaely 220 countries around the world)... And Steam also doesn't guarantee Vista compatibility in any of these games. This time I think that GOG.com is the winner.
