A genuinely funny Steam forum thread about the Ubisuck DRM.
I'm selling a brand new Corvette Z06.
It comes at the net price of $60. You will have full rights to use it, and drive it.

You can drive it whenever I think it's ok. I might change my mind at 0727, and stop the engine remotely. Or I might get sick and forget to allow you to start the engine. But rest assured I will let you drive it. At least up until the point juuuust before you pull off that perfect 180, making you really addicted to driving this sweet car, I will turn off the engine. Worst case scenario, someone may DDoS my remote.

And then someone ruins it by closing the thread. WAY TO PROMOTE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, ASSHOLES.

Steam having been doing a wonderful job through all this. They have been encouraging the pro-DRM ranters (and some are raving lunatics who are happy they can't play as long as pirates cant either), they have been 're-shuffling' (burying) anti-DRM threads, everyone asking for help is getting "please contact Ubisoft for technical support - Thread locked" and anyone asking for their money back is getting the thread locked with no explanations after a few Steam fans have commented to say how dumb that question is.
What a quality service.

I'm wondering if those who claim the DRM is excellent are sockpuppets. No way in hell would any sane person stand for this bullshit.
Then again, there are no sane people on the Steam forums.

Not to nitpic or anything, but it is a privately owned forum, and there is no such thing as "freedom of speech" on any privately owned forum, including this one. Some forums are better about letting harmless speech like that one continue; for example, it would likely have been left alone here, but in the end, everyone who visits any forum has their freedom of speech restricted. It might be something as simple as having the forum's language filter turned on, or it could be as Orwellian as having moderators actively search for and remove anything they don't agree with, but your speech is never free on any forum.
