JudasIscariot: Max Payne would be awesome to have on GOG. That was a fun game. The sequel wasn't too bad either.

hashishen: The games were great! They were simple fun and what more can one hope from a game. They were a bit short though...

Yes they were! Still, it was nice to have some gritty film noir that did not come off as being too cheesy though. We need more games with attitude and badassery!
I like the first Max Payne, but I looooove the second. One of my top ten games for sure; it's almost perfect. MP1 was flawed but excellent, but MP2 is just a class act.
I agree with the bunch, it's 3drealms
i hope its Apogee :P i want Boppin'! even though they published it.
Is there a dead line for this?
If so, I'm going to guess Apogee/3D Realms just because I don't have a better option yet.

The deadline is wednesday evening as stated in the second post.
I'll go with Apogee/3DRealms as well :)

Vandal: For the correct answer, we're actually looking for the publisher/company that the new deal is with -- not just a single game.
Just a quick recap of the hints we've dropped so far (in chronological order):
- shooters
- when it's hot, I like to take a dip
- hungry like a wolf
- Aim for the STARS
- we've got a bleeder
- gibs galore
We're cutting off the contest on Wednesday evening because at that point the clues will be of the "oh come on, as if you don't know it now!" variety.
To see what some other people have been guessing, check out this thread:

Have fun!

"Aim for the STARS?" I'm very tempted to say Capcom, since that may be a Resident Evil reference.
Aw heck, I'll say it's Capcom.
aim for the stars could mean system shock 1
It's way too long til wednesday....
Its 3D Realms/Apogee. The latest hint almost made it a definite.

Yeah, it's probably Apogee:
"Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold and Planet Strike
+ Cheat Codes - [J] [A] [M] [Enter] - These keys are to be pressed one at a
time. When all are pressed, the message "Now you're
Jammin'" appears, and you will be given all keys and 100%
health, but your score will be zeroed out. This will only
work on the registered version of the game."
I'm thinking that it is Apogee/3D Realms as well.
Unless it is Midway Games? They have a number of franchises that would fit with those clues including NBA Jam...
But I'm thinking Apogee/3D Realms is more likely..
edit: Just to confirm, my guess is for 3D Realms / Apogee

Yeah, I'm guessing 3d Realms/Apogee
Hungry like a Wolf = Wolfenstein 3d
Pump up the JAM = Blake Stone (it was created by JAM productions)
Most of these others have been figured out.
I'm guessing No One Lives Forever since it is from Fox Entertainment
