Now don't get excited, this is NOT a giveaway. This is just an idea that came to me while trying to work out a trade. People here love giveaways, and obviously there are plenty of people here who like to do giveaways. I have a backlog of game keys that I ended up with through bundles and gifts that I don't want, but since these games are a few years old all the people who really want to play them already have them. However most people will enter in for a giveaway to try the game if they win to see if its their cup of tea, since hey its a free game. And due to $ I can't get all the games I would like to try.

So I was thinking, since people like big giveaways and the traders have a huge backlog why not combine forces a bit. The people who do giveaways often pull pretty good games. I've missed quite a few games I've said I'd be willing to trade for on the Ninja thread. So I thought a page where people who want to do things like that could trade for multiple keys of whatever traders have to get more bang for their buck and do their thing.

What do you guys think? Is it a good idea or am I just accidentally high again?

Doesnt that do most of what your proposing?
Im a little drunk so am not 100% sure on exactly what you mean
I am not sure if i grasp the point. Isn't there a classifieds for it?
Yes alot of people try to trade their bundle keys which often most already have and thus are not very wanted.

But the classifieds is a little dry, more sellers than buyers. This is trying to connect the sellers with the giveaway organizers.

A bunch of those sellers can also be a bit more realistic or fair and give some of those away, if they know it's not selling. but also i mean i seen people trying to get another GOG game from games like the Witcher 1.
Heck i thought i picked two decent GOG games with Defender Quest and Geneforge 1-5 but not sure if its not wanted or it gets swamped by the other ads or nobody bothers to read it. But if it keeps up i might just be buggered and put it in a giveaway, i won't need to trade that for steam games, in most cases it would be a bad trade too.

If anyone wanting to do a giveaway it doesn't stop them from checking the classifeds thread.

What could work however is some kind of secret santa thing there was with xmas, but you were forced to pick something that was choosen by others, i wanted to donate something i had, but wasn't allowed.
If however anyone can donate something they have a spare of and get something else in return, might do.

First, I have way to much to say for this topic, so I deleted all my text, you guys are lucky, no more block of text!

Summary: Its hard to find a person with corresponding want/have lists for easy trading, at least its hard to via a single forum thread. Specially since there are no safe guards preventing scams or people not updating/deleting their older posts, that result in classified thread search (also, people leave, understandable)

As long as it was "only gog games" (minus the free ones <including free insomnia promo games>) it could work (need a rule for games when games are gifted to a person, and they all ready own it) or "steam bundle key" secret santa (of course if people want to give away non-bundle keys they could, but they should only spec a bundle key in return)

I think a site that had the users input their steam bundle key have/wants into their profile, the servers database and software could inform you if someone has a corresponding have/want, for super easy trading... still can't prevent scams sadly)

That is if people are interested in trading only bundle keys, often people want specific games usually not from bundles.
