Can developers and publishers stop this bullshit?
I hope the Comic Sans in the title is a 'wink' to other pet peeves. :D

Besides DLC's & DRM... everything else in this video is just trolling....
A lot of truth there. But it's been said before and better.

A common mistake on these forums. 'Trolling' doesn't mean posting something you don't agree with.

Ok let me put it this way: Author of the video is just hating :)

They won't, at least not as long as it makes them money (re: DLC) and saves them effort (re: manuals).

I agree with spinefarm to an extent.
Let's be honest, the guy in the video is just bashing. I'd have been infinitely more interested if he'd have offered arguments for both sides.
I.e. have a look at his #2 - motion blur. First he bashes it (fair enough) and then he bashes developers for giving people the choice to switch it off (abeuu?)

No arguments there. But I think that he means what he says even if it's not said very well.

People need to understand - If there is demand for some extras in games... devs put them in. Besides DRM & DLC - everything else is implented good in some games and it is awfull in others... so mostly he is bashing yes...

It does need a counterbalance. How many old games are difficult to go back to now because modern games make them seem clunky by comparison. I know a lot of people on this site may disagree, but for me there are a lot of games like that.

I'd have to disagree with that. Not only in that things like red screen are universally annoying. But also that DLC can and has been done well. Even though there are companies like Activision, Ubisoft and EA that turn it into something awful.

So you like DLC's like Saint Row 3 ones or the DLC's for Amalur? Or for Call Of Duty? Most of the DLC's out there are for milking the customers....

About the visual effects... Red screen is not even close to anoying for everybody,a lot of gamers actually like Motion Blur,Red screen and stuff like that...
I really don't get all the hate for DLC. In the past 3 years I haven't played a single game that didn't come with enough content in its original form. I'll admit that some cases like Mass Effect 3 are kind of lame but those seem to be the exception rather than the rule.

I just listed Activision and EA as companies that have awful examples of DLC. So that answers that.

As for red screen etc, it's subjective. Personally I find red screen universally annoying. No game has done it well. You might love it and the youtube guy is clearly no fan. That's just the way it goes. Personal opinion.
Guy hits all on the head and even loved when he mentioned the manuals. God i remember games with 100 pages to read a novel, music cassetes and lots of nice things that where not part of a CE pack.
Top ten peeves of modern games:

1. Not getting bought
2. Getting bought but not installed
3. Getting installed, being played for 10 minutes and never again
4. Getting installed, played for hours and hours all the way through and then having the gamer complain that the game isn't worth it because there's no multiplayer
5. Getting pirated "as a demo", played for 20 hours, then not getting bought "because they're not good enough"
6. Getting a top ten list posted in their name with the poster not even bothering to post ten items.
