It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Adzeth: Skype keeps installing that Firefox plugin thing that tries to turn my math homework into phone numbers. It doesn't even ask if I want it. The toolbar's easy to disable, but really persistent in reactivating/reinstalling itself. Oh the huge manatee...
Then stop doing your math homework... easy and convenient fix :D
Various downloads; I don’t want the Yahoo tool bar, I don’t want the Bing tool bar and no, nor do I want Google chrome. If I wanted these things I would go looking for them myself. You know what I’m downloading right now? Not you guys, something compliantly different. Stop butting in, it just make you look needy.
Third party toolbars are basically just malware as far as I'm concerned.
I use firefox's inbuilt one quite often (set to google) but as it takes up less real estate and is optional I'm thinking it doesn't come under this. They have their uses but I've always hated having to be careful when installing freeware just incase it tries to get me to install something I don't want.

HoneyBakedHam: Anyway, if you update Direct X anytime soon... watch out for the Bing Toolbar loader.
That's actually pretty good. You can get rewards and money for searching, afaik, and you can use them on WP / 360 / GfWL.

US only. :(
So many choices!

HereForTheBeer: Not necessarily. I encountered one a couple weeks back on a relative's machine. Extensive searching online only gave instructions for turning it off; nothing was shown to actually get rid of it. I suspect the browser would have to be uninstalled and reinstalled but they were fine with just turning it off.

JudasIscariot: Have you tried using HiJackThis! to remove the offensive toolbar? I remember it was quite effective at removing such garbage.
Completely skipped my mind at the time as I was dealing with little crap on three PCs at the same time, while my wife was nagging me to go somewhere. Thanks for the reminder, though - I'll have to try it out next time I go over there.
Hm, sorry for a bit of an OT.
But how do You call those java(?) floating bars, usually found on the bottom of pages? I bloody hate those. And they corrupt zooming. Even YT popped one on me yesterday.
Go to a toolbar and get hammered.

Okay now that? That was good. :D

orcishgamer: Unless you need pivot tables it works fine, so does LibreOffice.

If you want to gripe about AbiWord, I'm with you.

lukipela: Thats the thing though, no one is buying MO for word. they are buying it for powerpoint and excel, both of which are unmatched in ease of use and ability.
LibreOffice Calc is just as good as Excel, if you don't think so, you probably have a Masters or better in Mathematics or haven't used it in years. PowerPoint I'll give you, but I think most uses of PowerPoint are counterproductive.

Sadly, most home buyers of Office actually do buy it for Word, they mostly don't even know about WordPad. It's mostly ignorance, honestly, and for these folks OO.org or LibreOffice work fine. You can even set them up to default save to MS formats.

lukipela: When you can show me a reason why it is better, we can have that discussion. Consumers buy office for word and outlook, businesses, which far outnumber consumers in purchases, buy Office for Excel, Access and Powerpoint.

As I said, the market is pretty clear. Claiming ignorance is the cause is ignorant.
For home buyers it is ignorant, they use no more functions in Word than exist in WordPad. Buying Office for them is a wasted expenditure. I didn't mention business use at all but since you insist on bringing it up I will note I've used OpenOffice.org in a business environment for the past 6 years, it works fine. And no, we don't waste time with PowerPoint presentations.

My eye are bleeding looking at that.
