A WWI set in Saudi Arabia would be interesting. Controversial maybe, but interesting.
Post-sail naval combat seems to be a niche market, and niche markets in combat sims tend to be harshly critical. Maybe developers don't believe there will be a good return.
I would be happy to see an adventure game or something that deals with escaping from East Germany after the Berlin Wall went up and all the ramifications that went with that. I don't think the Cold War gets enough gaming love and there's tons of material there just waiting to be used...

Tirpitz: All of you of course know that the static trench war was only on the western front and in Alps (but less) ? In the eastern front, Africa and Asia the Great War looked quite differently with the eastern front being the most exciting. ;)
But I'm curious about one thing. Why aren't there any new games like Fighting Steel or Harpoon? That's interesting because all people would like to drive flotillas of steel behemoths into combat. Wouldn't you? Exactly. So why they don;t make such games? If I could participate in a Battle of Tsushima I... I... I'd just explode with enthusiasm!

A surface fleet commanding sim set in WW2 and ideally cross-compatible with the newly announced Silent Hunter 5 would be pretty close to my dream game. Imagine coop between a surface taskforce and a sub, you find a carrier battlegroup that outclasses you in firepower so the surface fleet does a running engagement to draw their attention while the sub sneaks in a slips a shiv into the carrier's back, then in the confusion the surface fleet can turn back to complete the kill...
I think I need to change my underpants...

Good old Cold War, so much gaming potential there. A full on espionage sim would be brilliant fun there

CyPhErIoN: I know it sounds nuts but i actually only believe what i experienced myself.

Syme: What was all that stuff about the trenches in the Ardennes then?

my granddad was fighting in the trenches. That's why i know for sure.

Sometimes I lose faith and tend to believe that the only way to get a game I'd like to play is to develop it myself... :/
Can I be a tester? I'm good at finding bugs

Here's something that should confuse all of you...
If you were driving down the highway in a one-wheeled canoe and all your walls fell off, how many pancakes would it take to cover your doghouse?
The answer shall follow later.
