juice99: Haha... Keevek's entry was certainly very offbeat :D. You should try having tigers as friends too, I hear they make good friends. And they love tuna.

keeveek: I am afraid that tigers like penguins too, and that would make things difficult :)
Don't worry: they don't like penguins, so they are safe. But they like the tunas inside the penguins.
Might as well carry on:

Second Batch of winners, Wednesday 11/05 2011

Gold Winner:
asb

{A saying goes that one should never argue with a man of academia, unless you are one yourself. So, when a PhD student (yes, for real) sends us a rather excellent write-up about how he hopes to test the Witcher 2 under Wine (and have extensive credentials and knowledge to back this up), the jury decided to grant his request with little delay. ASB is the fourth winner of the Gold Award}

Silver Winner:
Talby

Entry:

“To whom it may concern,

I strongly feel you should send me free games, because the President will destroy the world if you don't, as illustrated below;

{Without a doubt, Talby knows how to draw. Since we can't have the ghost of Roosevelt destroying the world, the Jury has decided to heed Talby's wish and give him the fourth silver award. Now, would you kindly tell the late great president to stand down?}

Bronze Winner:
CraigJKelly

Entry:

{It took us a little while (and quite a few good laughs) to get used to the dialect, but nevertheless we can all agree that this was an entry more than worthy the fourth Bronze award!}

Thanks Skystrider, and congratulations to every one else who won.
Both of these were hilarious! Well done indeed.

Oh THAT's what he meant? I honestly thought he was going to break out a special bottle he'd been reserving for the occasion and down it before playing :D.

You can see a copy of my entry here. The only change I have made is to remove a couple of sentences of biographical information at the start as noted, just so this doesn't turn up directly in Google searches for my name. The bulk of my entry is my opinions and observations about Wine's current state and its future. I'm not a Wine developer so of course some of my conclusions or predictions may be incorrect. Feel free to edit your post and link to it Skystrider.

I was incredibly surprised (and delighted) to win! I can't wait to try it out. I think the last time I had a game near launch was Civilization 3 for christmas 2001 though for some reason never got into it as much as Civ 2. Skystrider is awesome.

Good stuff. One of the primary reasons why I use Windows nowadays is that it's easier to game on it. Haven't tried Wine for a few years now, maybe I should go back and give it a shot.

Hey, I reserve the right to assume that that paragraph talks about an inebriated PhD student who wishes to see how well he can play TW2 while under the influence. His fine selection of wines and games he has tested them with may aid him in this journey, but that is yet to be seen :).

I thought the wine was something to drink...oh hell my mind is in the clouds :D Grats asb and grats DavidMcgrath..awesome job on the art, amazing colors there.

The rest were good too, fishes, dragons, penguins, a comic strip with a crazed ex president and I think the first scottish i've ever read online (I think, lol)
8 minutes and new winners, i think. And i hope it, too :)
20 minutes to go ... prepare to enter nail biting mode

EDIT: Make that 62 mins as of now *sigh*
