There's a way around that:

My Settings => Posts per topic page: 50. Whee, only 4 pages anymore! :)

Also I think you meant to say "the competition continues to see who is the biggest dick". Everyone tries their very best.

The future of modern gaming. Good question. My prdiction is that big budget puplishers will go more ino the direction like with the game in the OP. Very stylish, extremly pretty but not very involving till it (AAA gaming) ends in a way of really interactive movies and probably turns into a new type of entertainment not really connected to "classic" gaming.

All the while with that big AAA development going in one sector, crowdfunding games will make a bigger impact in another. Far less budget, far less in the "visual cinematic" experience but in most cases far deeper gameplay. Much more meat on the bone so to speak. That will probably develop in to what gaming was with developers creating their own bussiness and then splitting in different branches of gaming & above mentioned new entertainment before being bought out and crushed by EA.

Shortly after that time the Aliens will reveal themselfes and mankind has to prove if they are a worthy member of the galactiy community. Surviving that the entertainment input from all over the universe will change all entertainment into something our todays non-telepatic brains cannot understand yet. Also... damn, crystal ball broke.

Was that to much trying to get back on topic or should I randomly insult some people in this topic? ;)

I don't mind when I post something shitty and get hit for it, it's the people that show up 24hours later and nail me. First of all you are only doing it because everyone else did which makes you a fucking sheep. Second, there needs to be a statute of limitation for this crap.
