DieRuhe: Like, in GTA IV, I get it - when I'm going to pick someone up, I need to stop near them and honk the horn. Do I need to constantly be told that throughout the game? Every single time?

HereForTheBeer: No fooling - I get enough of that from being married.
Excellent. :-)

Adzeth: I hear you recover some health and get a different animation if you press the buttons.

/edit: was trying to find the source and turns out it was this thread. ha! :D
Penny Arcade:

"Depending on how perfectly you time the inputs with the action on screen, you'll get bigger rewards. If you miss a button prompt, the animation will branch off into a less-impressive version of the kill."

Elenarie: Sorry, I don't go and consider myself above other people,...
Sure. You only consider yourself above those that you call 'elitists'. But those aren't people of course.

avatar
Elenarie: Offended, by what? /confused I am not offended at all by anything that has been posted here, you can be sure of that.
Then why are you so agressive?
avatar
Elenarie: Another day, another stupid post by PC MASTER RACE elitist jerks.
I've been reading some of your posts on the Xbox reveal thread and I have to ask you, you work for Microsoft, right? Either that or you are a massive Microsoft fanboy.

No, sorry, It was my mistake... sorry... I misread your post....

Licurg: Wow... I'm never buying another Crytek game again. Ever...

Elmofongo: All that pirating of the first Crysis must have really drove them over the edge...

To bad because setting wise Ryse would have been interesting, besides Total War we rarely got Ancient Rome Settings in games.
Regarding that meme about piracy of Crysis on PC, people should probably know that Crysis+Crysis Warhead have sold over 4.5 million units, which, hilariously, is the same amount of units sold of all the Crysis games for consoles combined. Crytek should really stop whining about PC.

Fenixp: There is actually discussion about games sold on GOG as well. It's in game-specific boards. If you don't like general stuff discussed on ... you know ... general subforum, I suggest you butt out and only watch those game-specific boards. Also you are definitely one of the reasons why this place has lost classiness, I have never seen anyone getting attacked for liking new games back in 2008. People actually discussed them. Politely. That's something you seem to be incapable of.
This forum should be open to all. It should not be a forum only for "classy" people. Having a forum on the internet would make no sense if it was only open to a kind of people. This is not a club. This is not a restaurant etc.

Who's a 'classy person' for crying out loud? The reason it got called classy was because opinions were actually respected and discussed as opposed to being attacked. Or do you think it's fine to verbally assault someone because he dislikes something you like? That it's a behavior we should welcome because everybody is welcome?

If deep inside, you feel that this person is a bad person for not liking something you like, then sure, why not. Obviously, attacking someone who doesn't like the same kind of ice cream you like is insanity.

Oh I see. So yes, calling someone stupid for liking console games is a behavior we should embrace. I'm starting to wonder what am I doing around here anymore.
I have to agree with the general drift of what the OP says. What fun do people get out of playing games which are virtually impossible to fail at ? It's totally baffling, I just can't get my head round it. Do people really need their hands holding all the time ? I'm not against the casual gamer or the existence of casual games, but I'm positively AT WAR with the notion which seems to be becoming more widespread among not only gamers but also developers / publishers even of PC games, that nearly ALL games ought to have all the supposed "frustration" taken out of them. Money, money, money is what this is all about, nothing else. In the future what will be the point in having any money to spend on games when all games have become so SHIT that there are no longer any games worth spending it on ? But by then I suppose "shit" will have become the new "great" ...

The charge of elitism I regard as selfish. If the reverse process (making games MORE challenging and easier to fail at) became the ALMOST UNIVERSAL TREND then the casual gamer might be justified in raging at those who were spoiling his fun, and I would even stick up for the casual gamer under those circumstances because his preferred type of game would be being hounded out of existence and that would not be fair. But as it is the general trend seems to be in favour of dumbing down and this is taking the fun out of games for those who prefer more of a challenge - and THIS is not fair. And all this talk of elitism is itself a bizarre type of elitism : the elitism of the anti-elitist.

It's the kind of behavior that exists on basically every single website, unfortunately. It was only a matter of time before it reached this place.

I don't agree because the difference between console games and PC games is like the difference between two kinds of ice cream.
