Nope, Nintendo really has no place in the modern market, hardware brand loyalty of the old sort is dying/dead, all that is going to matter is the technical specs and raw power of the hardware, and the quality of the software (as it should be really), as well as getting your software to as many potential customers as possible, which is why their were so few exclusives at E3, even the big names now can't convince devs (outside their own internal studios) to forego profits to selling on "the other" console.
If PS4 does "win" over XB1 (as it probably will) it will be because of it's hardware and the games (software), not because of any brand loyalty to Sony. Nintendo will sink with it's flag sailing if it thinks never-ending Mario and Zelda rehashes as nostalgic appeals will save them. They need to make hardware which has more power than a toaster.
