GoodGuyA: Personally, the conference was only semi-successful for me because of all the titles they didn't show. They may have brought a lot of games, but seriously, how fast can you whiz through like a dozen games with only the cursory notion of "soon" nearby? I get it, Ass Creed and Watch Dogs bring in the big bucks, but there should be new stuff that we should get to see more. In that light, Destiny was good, if somewhat boring due to the pace of it all.

However, I must say this: Don't be blinded because Sony took it out on Microsoft. Believe me, I love this sort of conflict, directly aimed at the competitors, but Sony all ready decried these practices previously. This announcement should not have been "Stop the conference!" worthy. The gaming media are quick to brush things under the rug to exalt saviors. What about Nintendo that didn't get caught up in this conflict by purely being fair to the customer? Where's their praise as the video game heroes? I do not object to the principle, quite the opposite, but people should recognize thsi was a cheapshot. An effective cheapshot, but a cheapshot nonetheless.

Price point is just right for the console. I foresee many Xbox One problems and good PS4 success. I hope at the very least this sends a message, even if the games particularly weren't to my pleasing. Iwouldn't be ASHAMED to own a PS4, I can tell you, though in the coming months I'd rather have a Wii-U. Good on Sony, but cut down the conference if you're going to whiz by games anyways. That was movie length and felt it, this late.
Yeah its "blast processing" all over again.

Goatbrush: Any idea what time tomorrow is the Nintendo one? I thought gamespot had the times listed near the streams but that part is either not loading for me or I'm too tired to find it properly.
For Nintendo tomorrow in United Kingdom it will begin at 3pm.
So, we should expect Microsoft to announce major changes to their plans in...let's say 2 weeks? They pretty much have to switch things up now.

Sony did well, but it was really overly long. That whole movie/tv/music part in the middle can go right to Hell.
EA had a good one overall.
Ubisoft doesn't seem to understand how to pull these off right. They keep spending too much time on pointless nonsense and 1 or 2 overly long demos Not bad, but it could have been better. And WAY too much reliance in cinematics!
Microsoft's wasn't bad in terms of games, but aside from that...augh.
To me this was the best of the sony conference

wodmarach: something like £50 of that is VAT and the US price doesn't include sales tax
Oh yes of course, they don't include VAT on the product price beforehand.

Well ignore me on that then ramble then.

I should go to bed for a bit.
So taking a guess MS will probably announce in the next 2-6 weeks...
Raising of online check
£/$100 worth of extras in the launch pack along with a price drop
A working loan system (other than the choose 10 people and they can access your games)
aaaand probably an announcement that the game will work no matter what if the disc is in the drive...

I wouldnt be suprise if it were after E3.

I have no problem with that, so long as it's not literally lying to the customer. Consumers should be able to see past facades put in front of them, both positive and negative. Don't let Sony blind you by throwing it atop a high horse because it surprised you for a moment, y'know? Is all I ask. If you look past that and still want the PS4, then all speed.
I'm pretty sure Microsoft won't change a thing. They're stubborn like that.
Remember, when everybody told them months before Windows 8 was released, that it was a really stupid idea to remove the Start button and they shouldn't do that? And did they listen?

MS are very sure of themselves.

Thing is it wasn't a large amount of the testers complaining about the start button, plus their own internal testing showed their testers preffering it after awhile in this case they are showing too high a price and Sony is taking the piss they'll have to react

Not to mention you can still change back so Windows 8 looks pretty much like Windows 7 does if you want to.

It would certainly be interesting to see what direction Microsoft will take next if their DRM plan makes the Xbox One fail completely. If it wasn't for the fact that people will lose jobs I'm hoping it would.

They'd just announce the Xbone S and make it require the disc be in the drive scrapping the rest (so no 10 people can share etc)

I am wondering though if Sony had a bunch of price slides ready and just chose the one that undercut MS by $100

I'm pretty sure Microsoft also did tests that showed that people love DRM. If you want a certain result, you get it.

Also, Microsoft is sure that they will own Sony because everybody will buy an Xbone, because you can watch TV on it ... I mean with it ... no, through it.
Definitely the killer feature that Sony kinda doesn't have, and that's the only reason people buy game consoles.

Actually no they've been saying it was the publishers demanding it. And since they claim almost all the DRM is "upto the publisher"...

Also anyone pickup that Japan wasn't mentioned for the PS4 launch?

It will honestly probably be a killer feature... for kids wanting to sell the purchase to their parents "But Mum/Mom look you can use it with the tv and get all these extras...."
