And off course...people with little to lose wouldn't find my idea appealing...
But let's try and get replies from people who DO own a lot of stuff on here..

... I happen to own like 25 games from here, FYI.

Edit: 29 to be exact

And that is really not true... what kind of logic is that? :/

118 games. Still don't find it appealing. :D

EDIT: HOLY SHIT How did I acquire 118 games since mid December?! I can't think I of anything I've ever had 118 of. Shit, I can't think of anything I've ever done 118 times! Well actually one thing jumps to mind but this is a family show so I'll keep that to myself.

I've over 150 games owned here. I still wouldn't want to pay $5 a month because I hate subscription based services for the most part. The only service I have a subscription for right now is Netflix. I would be tempted with Playstation Plus, but at $60 a year, it's too rich for my blood right now.

ZMacZ: I MAY be new to this site, but not to games, forums or game sites...
And if you think it's confusing, sorry about that...I tried explaining it in detail..

If you buy $5 worth (or more) games on here each month simply say yes...

Garugo: Oh, no, I just meant you seem to be new to this particular site and its forum, not to forums and websites in general. Apologies for the confusion there.

I haven't downrepped any of your posts, but you aren't exactly being open to differing opinions either. Your 'suggestion' alone is "Agree with me to pay $5 a month or go fuck off", so I can understand other posters hostility towards you right now.
Not exactly true...
"So...if you buy $5 a month worth of games...say yes...it won't cost you ANYTHING...
So...if you don't ?...well...free games all around, but in this case I'd like to KEEP the play right to those games
AND have a place to download them from which AIN'T riddled with viruses.."
If GOG needs money, I should probably stop paying for all my games with Schrute bucks.
102 games, including those horrible freebies.
And I vehemently opposed this idea.

ok...that makes you one of the few ones I think...

But did you do the math ?

I'm thinking 118 games worth at least $5 each would make no difference for you if
you would have been here for 118 months..

I lost a gems collection of 6000+...
I payed $20 a month to keep them safe...insurance..
When it was lost I got ZERO refund...
So yea....I'm not to eager to invest again, only to see the site go to great server in the sky...

Pretty much the same thing as a Stanley nickel!

Yes but the thing is I don't know if I'll have $5 next month and on top of that I loathe being obligated to anyone.

I am way to tired to keep debating this. Besides I only ever debate when I'm wearing a mask, hence my name, The Masked Debater. Yeah that's a stupid joke but some of you will be telling it tomorrow.

Y'know I think the reason GOG doesn't do a subscription based model on top of other reasons is probably because of trust.. Same thing with DRM

Hmm...from that point of view...
WEll...not everyone can be assured of income I guess...
But not paying a monthly fee would NOT disown your rights...
It's about keeping a site like this operational (by design in the black) forever..

Fair enough, but I was going more by this bit:

"( $5 worth games a month ain't a lot of money ===> say YES..)
( If you wanna keep these games FOREVER ===> say YES )
( If you don't even spend $5 a month on here ===> Who caress what you think ?? Go nag elsewhere )"
