I got Ghostbusters for $6 during the Holiday sale and thought it was well worth the price. It was fun and it's Ghostbusters.

Wolfox: I can't see Alpha Protocol - I guess it's region locked. Oh bummer. No biggie - I can get it from Gamersgate some time in the future. ;-)

Same. It's not really large enough a discount anyhow. And I don't have time to play it.

Try GetGamesGo Their standard £24.99 price is a lot cheaper for me than Steam's sale price.

goest: Anyone have any recommendations?
Low price games (i don't have a lot of cash, and I already have a lot of games to play, so I won't get around to these games for a while) that don't need an uber computer. (up to Bioshock1 level, just).

Alpha Prime - $1.24 - is a fun though straight-forward FPS using the id Tech 4 engine (Doom 3). Stick to the Easy difficulty level for first playthrough unless you're a FPS expert.
Shadowgrounds Pack - $4.99, or the first game alone for $2.49. Excellent third-person survivor/alien breed type shooter from the creators of Trine.
Toki Tori - $2.50 - awesome puzzle "platformer" (no actual platforming skills required) once you get past the kiddy graphics.
Indigo Prophecy - $3.39 - great adventure game with a unique style - as long as you're not put off by quicktime events. From the creators of Hard Rain (same type of game).

bansama: The candlesticks endlessly attacking, etc., was an anti-piracy "glitch" that was placed in the game.
avatar
Delixe: Ouch. Pwnt?

Strange, because it affected my retail copy and a few review copies.
Ah well.
And I am not sure if it was "endlessly attacking" or not. I just found that the unwieldy nature of the proton pack plus the small buggers made for a very unfun game. I'll probably take a look to see if it is the "bug" you are talking about or just bad gameplay, but not a high priority (didn't really like shooting the ghosts either).

Ouch. [2]
I didn't know about this "glitch".
There's a mod for Crysis if anyone is interested, it's called Crybusters, but I haven't played it yet.

Well, I had a look at the whole indie catalog, and guess it's where you should be looking at:

This Introversion pack is insane, 4 great games (if you like the style, that is) for $5:

The Introversion pack indeed seems INSANE. Four $9,99 games for 5 dollars only. Good God...
Anyway, how is DEFCON and Uplink? Any good? I have no clue about them.

I loved Uplink. DEFCON was an MP-oriented game, so that one can go either way (depends if people are still playing). I hated Darwinia and suspect I would hate Multiwinia.
That being said, if even one game tickles your fancy, the 5 buck deal for all four is worth it (and cheaper).

Rohan15: Meh, nothing interesting yet.....C'mon Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines...

Yeah, a massive sale could bring Bloodlines down to, oh, about what they *should* be selling it for already. Much as I'd love to see that one for a reasonable price, I wouldn't count on it if the last Steam Christmas sale was any indication. Activision have been notably stingy with their deals.
Anyone from US willing to gift me Alpha Protocol?
I'll pay back via PayPal.

In fairness they are currently selling all the CoD games bar Modern Warfare 2 for the same price as CoD: World at War.

I actually only just noticed that myself. It's nice to seem them participating this time around, so I guess there's hope for Bloodlines.

This could probably hint at MW2 being one of the coming daily deals. They do need more people owning the game so that they will buy the upcoming map-pack. I doubt it will get more than a $10 discount though =/
I got The Witcher! :D
I probably can't run it, BUT IT'S SO CHEAP!
(Actually, I am able to run Mass Effect, 20 fps style - can I run Witcher then?)
AlexY, what are your system specs?
*edit* The following is what I ran the original release of the Witcher on (not the EE) and it ran very well (I've gone through two upgrades since though). Hopefully that will help you figure out if your rig is up to snuff:
Athlon 64 3200+ @ 2.0 GHz
2 GB RAM
EVGA 7900 GTO
1280x1024 resolution.
