lowyhong: How's A Farewell to Dragons? Seems rather well received.

If I manage to download and play it before the sale ends, I'll let you know.

KneeTheCap: Umm, why does people buy games from steam what you can get here( (ie. Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, Ghost Master, FlatOut I, Kings Bounty, Freedom Force) DRM-free? It's only a few bucks in difference...

I can't comment on all those, but in the case of Freedom Force, it was more than a few bucks' difference--we're talking both games for less than $2 vs. only the second game for $6. And King's Bounty is two games for the same price that you'd get the first one here. For me, that's enough to make up for Steam's (in my experience) hassle-free DRM.

I have to agree while GOG is a great site it would help to have a number of extra price levels some of the games on here are sold else where for 99p at times and I can deal with a little DRM for that much of a saving. I'd strongly advise GOG to add other pricing bands from $1 to $20 the 2 current price bands mean they'll almost always be under sold

FYI it's also now 75% off on GamersGate and will be until around Monday next week so even if the sale ends on Steam, you'll still have a few more days in which to make a choice.
Hokay.
Bought
Fuel
Tales of MI
Culpa Innata
Chrome
Indigo Prophecy
Tropico 3: absolute power
Fuel purchased because i wanted some racing game... 12 hours in and I am slowly bored with it... Still less boring than most racing games i played and will surely come back to it from time to time (already finished one whole area. one area 80% and another 20%)
Tales... i love monkey island and i want to play it.
Culpa... bought because people say it is unique. I value uniqueness over polish any day or night of the year.
Chrome... dirt cheap. 2 pack only 2 dollars. i pay more for a snickers bar in 711.
Indigo Prophecy. cheap, heard it is great game. seems my cup of tea.
Absolute power... Had t3 but i hear AP makes game much better.
Now I feel a bit bad about no-gog purchases since Master of Orion so after i pay this week's rent
Advent Rising
Outcast
from gog
...
Now I have to get into nerdy shape and finish games which i already started (world of goo, Indy and lost atlantis, Empire) and at least 5 new games before the end of the year.
Didn't buy anything. Couldn't sort out my credit card mess in time but I still have enough games from both Steam and GOG that I haven't even installed. I'm hoping the pile will be smaller by christmas and then I'll splurge on both sites.
My list of purchased games:
Serious Sam HD pack
AvP Classic 2000
Zeno Clash
Flotilla
Numen
Shatter
Winterbottom
Star Wars Empire at War Gold
Borderlands + all DLCs
Jericho
Avencast
And I am still thinking about Chrome and a few others...
I've been considering picking up The Whispered World while it's on sale. Does anyone here have an opinion on it?
I try to limit my purchases from Steam to games that can't be gotten anywhere else or games that have had their DRM removed for the Steam version. This is what I bought:
- Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-44
- Bioshock
I think i've decided to just stick with Zeno clash and skip the rest. I realised that most of the games I was considering (Jericho, Chrome, etc..) were just because of their dirt cheap price.
But i already have dozens of unplayed games, so if it's not something special then what's the point.
Wish I'd bought Civ4 though. Doh.
Instead I'll save my money for the Outcast sale on GOG that WILL come next weekend. *concentrates*
