I'm struggling between getting the Shadowgrounds Pack, Nikopol and the Indie Puzzle Pack, or just going with the Meridian4 Complete Pack. I don't know about the other titles in that Complete Pack, most seem pretty mediocre, but the difference is about $/€5 for a dozen additional titles. Has anyone played Avencast and/or Greed? If they are moderately decent for some hack & slash fun I think I might go with the full she-bang.

Shadowgrounds and Avencast are decent. Alpha Prime is as well. Just be aware that Meridian 4 have a reputation as purveyors of poor quality games so if you buy the complete pack you will have a lot of very poor games you will never play.

Most people seem receptive to Avencast. I tried the demo and I liked it, not too shabby for a low budget game.

I bought Tank Universal, thinking it was going to be like Battlezone. Good God that game was utterly rubbish. Never before had I forced myself to play a game and still fail to actually complete it.
Alpha Prime isn't bad. Nothing special, not a solid shooter either, but it's passable I guess. Some cool ideas with that techy tool thing, and the interface is quite pleasant to look at. Shadowgrounds is great, I love it a lot.

Avencast is surprisingly good, and surprisingly different. It's definitely not a standard Diablo-clone. It was released around the same time as Hellgate: London, and of course H:L got all the attention. But Avencast was definitely more enjoyable, at least to me.
Greed, however, is bland, repetitive and boring. Nice music, some nice graphics, but not much fun. There's online coop, but I never found anyone to play with.
Steam isn't loading for me at the moment, so I can't check the rest of the content of the Meridian 4 pack. From what I remember, it's a mixed bag.

Apart from the ones already mentioned (Alpha Prime, Avencast, Greed, Nikopol, and the two Shadowgrounds titles) it contains: Puzzle Indie Pack (Chains, Gumboy, Vigil, Obulis), Action Indie Pack (RIP Trilogy, Space Trader, Penguins Arena, Larva Mortus, Tank Universal), Chrome + Specforce, Crash Time 2, Pacific Storm + Allies.
It's just that it's currently so dirt cheap. Selecting only the titles I might be interested in almost brings it up to the same price as the full package. Thanks for all your feedback - if Avencast and Alpha Prime are actually pretty decent, I think I'm going to take them all. I've even been known to enjoy the occasional trashy game, so who knows.
Games I bought:
Alpha Prime (Meh, okay I guess. Decent gun fights)
Beat Hazard
Ben There, Dan That!
Chrome
Chrome: Specforce
Flottila
Freedom Force Pack.
Introversion Pack.
Killing Floor
The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom
Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Time Gentlemen, Please!
I just bought Killing Floor (and the two character addons). £4.97 for the lot was just too good an offer to miss. I'm hoping there are some GOG members who play. Though it may be about a week before I get it downloaded.
Anyone got views on Civ 4 : Complete Edition for £6.25?
Loved Civ2 back in the day, but not played anything since.
Civ 4 is terrific and one hell of a bargain at that price just keep in mind Civ 5 is coming out in October.

I grabbed Avencast as I've heard more positives than negatives and its only $2.50. Greed, however, at double the price I've heard far more negatives. The itemization is apparently linear/non-existent (just X more damage on the same type of weapon and not like Torchlight), it is relatively short and the levels are excessively long so you aren't going to see a lot of variety, there are a lot of frustrating/annoying puzzles, there are basically no quests and no other npcs, and the list goes on. The game play looks decent but that's about it. Honestly I would just wait for something like the new Alien Breed to go on sale.
