TheCheese33: Also, is PB Winterbottom better with a mouse + keyboard or controller? Both Steam and XBLA have sales for the game.

Well I got the game and the (default) controls are just keyboard, the arrow keys to move, space to jump, z to smack and shift to make clones. It works just fine for me.

Kabuto: I finally bought my first steam game. Bioshock. I'm now done for the sale.
I must say that the purchase method is quite odd. You login and confirm through paypal but then click purchase confirm backin the steam client. The dumbest part was steam asking me if I wanted to install the client update and restart steam midway during a transaction process. Idiots. Good thing I was allowed to decline the update.

Steam has the best methods of paying, that update thing is normal, not something idiotic, the client advise you with a popup if there are updates, and you can of course wait.
You have to login on Paypal like also gog.com does, and every site on this planet using paypal, after you do the purchase on paypal you're redirected back to steam. Maybe you never used paypal on any site before?
The only real difference I've seen between paypal purchasing between steam & gog is that steam has a confirm button after you authorise the paypal payment (which doesn't seem to be the same as actually paying, its just confirming that they're allowed to take the money) whereas gog just says the order is complete.

I remember a topic or two on the Steam forums a while ago which implied that when you hit the Confirm button in Paypal, Valve do actually take the money at the point and the order is complete before you return to the Steam store.
Is the Telltale Everything pack worth it? I don't have any of the games and I haven't tried them. I do want the Tales of Monkey Island Complete Pack but I don't know about the rest.

There are demos on Telltale's own site that should give you some idea. But generally, I'd say yes, it's worth it. I can't see how you'd be considering it and not enjoy it. The games are very well crafted.

I'd say its well worth it. The Bone games are fun little adventures with real charm and you'll probably be as annoyed as I am that they stopped at episode 2.
Sam & Max is awsome and don't go messing with demos because this episode (which oddly enough doesn't show in contents of the pack) is completely free! The Wallace & Gromit series is a really good extension of the movies/shows. Tales of Monkey Island is really quite excellent, very much in the vein of the previous monkey games
You also get the homestar runner game proving that not every pack is perfect but who knows, you might like it

I've used paypal plenty of times. I wasn't complaining about logging in to paypal. I should hope you need to. I'm just saying usually when you do a confirmation through paypal it's odd to get redirected back to a store which says press to confirm. Usually you simply get redirected back saying purchase complete. Afterall if I just confirmed through paypal, it would seem to me i've already given the money before coming back and pressing the final confirm button on steam. It's an observation. And I have no problems with updates but it seems dumb to ask during a transaction no?
Read before you reply calling me a dope.

Well, since you mentioned Homestarrunner I have a relevant Strongbad email. Relevant to retrogamers, anyway. Let's see if you can get the reference. In the email, Strongbad is using his Tandy 800 (or maybe Atari 800, I forget). Anyway, when he fantasizes about Ali and her sister, he references a (sort of) classic EGA game. One that I seriously doubt we'll see here. Let the guessing commence.
Here's the link

Under SB emails, it's the one titled 'sisters', in case their site doesn't allow foreign referrers.

Steam killed my with this sale. I already bought the Overlord Complete Pack, Half-Life 1, Cryostasis, Flatout Ultimate Carnage, Shatter and The Void. I'm especially happy about The Void and Cryostasis. Also I was surprised too see how many people are still playing Half-Life 1 in multiplayer; lots of fun. :) Now I'm waiting to see if they'll lower even more the prices for The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, The Witcher, King's Bounty: Armored Princess, Machinarium, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas.
Oh, and now GOG has two of the games I wanted on a promotion. :| I finished Sanitarium two years ago, so I only bought Another World. I'll never upgrade my computer at this pace. :)

Aliasalpha: Ding ding ding. Specifically Strip Poker III, I believe. I'm not allowed to view that kind of stuff anymore, so I cannot confirm. Very good!
Hey CoW, any of those games good today?
Max & Magic Marker $5
Borderlands $10.16
Crysis $15
Half Life 2 $3.39
Prototype $15
Beat Hazard $2.5
Saint's Row 2 $7.5
Star Wars, Emp at War $5
Day of Defeat (uhh, isn't this a free mod?) $1.24

New round of deals are still settling into place, but it appears that Beat Hazard and Max & Magic Marker is 75% off, and Day of Defeat 1 for 75p. Plus Crysis for a tenner (again) and Saint's Row 2 for £2.50.
Is Saint's Row 2 any good? I've heard good things about it.
Max & The Magic Marker 75% off
Prototype 50% off
Star Wars Empire at War Gold 75% off
Borderlands 66% off
HL2 66% off
Crysis 50% off
Bionic Commando Pack 75% off
Saints Row 2 75% off
DoD 75% off
Beat Hazard 75% off
I'll probably go for Bionic Commando and Borderlands. Saints Row 2 is very fun, but it's also a very bad console port.
Beaten by a ninja! =P
