Damn. They raised the Gothic pack to $5 right as I was about to buy it. I already own Gothic 2 on GOG, so i'm not willing to pay $5 for Gothic 3 and another copy of Gothic 2.

I thought it was just me, looks like it was another Steam screw-up. Not that I am complaining ;)
I'm doing quite well, I haven't bought a single game from STEAM since the Deus Ex sale ;)
Anyone else out there with so much self-restraint? :P

I bought them for 2 dollars before changing them. What will happen now? They will charge 3 dollars in future or they will remove my games and refund the money? Or nothing gonna happen?

Nothing will happen as it's their screw-up. It's not the first time people have had a mega cheap sale because Valve can't add up properly.

Yea, remember that golf game that Australians could buy for like few cents? :)

*raises hand* Haven't bought direct from Steam since, ooh... Christmas Sale 08, I think. So, yeah. (Last action on my Steam account I think was me buying Killing Floor retail in March.)
I played the Civ IV demo today, and I liked it, despite tending to not stick with *big* games. I was considering buying the Complete disc off Amazon for 7, but it's sans Colonisation (which, AFAIK, the disc version still has a SecuROM disc check). I'm definitely chewing over that Civ deal. Perhaps throw in Beat Hazard or something (what? I liked the demo!).

Woo! I picked up the Gothic 2 gold and 3 for 2 bucks before it went to 5! Never played a Gothic before, thought I might as well at that cheap.

Haha good job! But Christmas Sale 08?! O_O
The Christmas Sale 2009 had some great deals I couldn't let pass though :P You win good Sir.
I try to keep my distance to STEAM to some extent, it's indeniable they have great deals at times and the biggest game collection :/

My excuse for missing the Christmas Sale 09 was that I was saving for a new laptop. If I'm going to miss this sale, my excuses will be a) said new laptop is on course to arrive 4 days after the sale ends and b) I've hardly touched my copy of the Humble Indie Bundle due to reason a).

I can beat all that. I haven't bought a steam game period unless it was free (HL2 deathmatch, lost coast, Portal) mostly because it's really hard for me to buy a download only item especially one that's tied to an account. I like having a boxed copy. In all I've only ever purchased 1 mp3 and two download only games from gog. Despite that, there is no illegally obtained music, movies, software or games on my machines.
That will finally change once beat hazard gets a daily deal since all the indie games I want are download only. I also want to purchase my games in one go. So either super laser racer and beat hazard + introversion pack for $8.75 or forget the introversion pack and just $3.75 for the other two games.

Those are sensible excuses. A deal for 1 buck here, another for 2, this one for 5... eventually it all sums up and you end up spending more money than you ever expected spending.
I skipped quite some meals to get some games I liked, NOW IT'S OVER! (well, ok maybe this one too...) :D

I really got the ball rolling here ;) No, I'm surely not a die-hard anti-STEAMer but boxed copies is something I really favour over digital distribution. The times where I would buy a fullprice game from STEAM are long over... and I don't understand the people getting those games while they're way cheaper obtainable retail. STEAM must be a selling feature for some I guess.

lackoo1111: *checks* yep
when we will se a GOG thread on Steam ?

Does it really offend you so much? Obviously CD Project doesn't care since they sell Witcher through it.
