Freyar: I can't stand EA's Store.
One, it goes through Digital River, the same ****tards that turned around and told me that because I activated a game four times, I have to REBUY it, and two, they shirk you out of five bucks just to promise you access to a download file for a full year or two.
Not to mention the downloader itself was horrible.

Delixe: The Downloader has improved a lot, well it should given its on version 5 now. As for buying games there don't unless its DLC. Go to G2Play.net, buy retail key, activate on EA Download Manager, Make a cup of tea, profit.

Does the tea have to be a specific kind?

Falci: I was under the impression that Steam had an innocent habit of mistakenly pricing promotional packages higher than the individual games. It is, actually, no Mistake. As you can see on the screen shot.

Oh they fixed that "error" for the US, but they can't be arsed to "fix" it for the rest of the USD regions. I expect they think that we're too stupid to notice. Jokes on them mind, as I got it gifted from the UK ages ago when the sale price in the UK was cheaper than the US sale price =).
Seriously though, Valve really couldn't give a shit about store mistakes that don't affect the US. It took me 4 months of constant complaining via support and mass forum PMs to finally get them to remove obviously false and misleading advertising from the Japanese store pages. And yet, they still do it =/
Some of their mistakes mind are good for us. Like their current mistake on the Japan store; they forgot that EA games are restricted here and have left the new C&C games up for sale. Of course, they're bound to fix that mistake as soon as they notice it. But I won't be telling them about it. They made the same mistake with the batch of EA releases which included Medal of Honor Airborne (which was up long enough for me to purchase it).

Heh...reminds me of that golf game that was mistakenly priced 13 cents for Australians; That lasted three or four days. :P

Yep. It's good when they make some mistakes at the weekend. Although I see the Sacred 2 expansion is still showing as "released" when it isn't. But then, being restricted from sale in the US, I guess they don't give a shit that no one else can buy it yet -- and to make things even funnier, the game is apparently still missing the patch required to use the expansion anyhow. valve are are absolutely pathetic when it comes to patching that game.
The last time it wasn't patched for weeks the excuse given to the developers was that the ONLY person capable of releasing the patch was on holiday! That's just crap. Are Valve really telling us that only one person in the entire company actually knows how to release patches onto their content servers? Talk about shafting customer service for the sake of a 25 million dollar ad-campaign.

By saturday they had already fixed it, at least on my store page. :P I guess there were a lot of complains.
OK, So this may be well out of the original topic but....
Vacation's to me, generally end up with me worrying about what happened while I am away.
I'm not exactly the biggest people person either, so not sure exactly where to go or what to do. I mean my friends are all work related, my old university buddies have all started families and all that rot. All my old girlfriends are now married, so, cant ask one of them to go to New Zealand or anything.
I love to travel but absolutely hate going alone. I would like to go to Thailand, or Australia or, Brazil or pretty much anywhere but the states.
Would anyone have any suggestions or ideas of things an American could go do and not be in fear of their life? (Would rather not go all the way back Stateside, done the Vegas, NYC, LA, thing).
Sorry...shouldn't be complaining about vacation time, anyone have a suggestion?

Captain Picard recommends Earl Grey served hot.

Sure, make a GoG tour, visit all ou GoG-ers around the world :D
I'mma bash whoever decided I'm not allowed to have more than one fully functional computer at a time. Just as I got my new shiny laptop all set up, the mac mini and the tower started acting weird, and now, a couple days later, the latter won't even boot.
I was planning to upgrade it - actually, I've been planning/postponing that for at least a year - but I'm not entirely sure I now have the financial means to do that until at least january, given that I recently bought the laptop and spent a great deal of my bank balance on that.

PSU problem? if you have an old unused PC hanging about, you could try switching the PSU to see if it's that.

I have two months vacation to begin in February and I am being forced to take it, the problem is where the hell do I go????
Home, eh not sure where I call home, I mean I haven't been to my house in Alaska in a few years but I would not even know what to do with myself even if I was there...

Nah, PSU works. I was thinking it might be the RAM as it stops before it should display how much I've got. So I tried switching the two 1GB sticks I have now for an old pair of 512 MB sticks that /should/ work (though the two pairs don't like each other, and the larger pair is faster, which is why I didn't use both to begin with) didn't make a difference though.

Reseating RAM was the second thing I was going to recommend...still no luck if you put put in the 1GB ones in each other's slots?

Nope, trying different configurations between the 4 slots and sticks I have, the best case scenario is that it locks-up right after it tells me the name of the CPU. Worst-case is it doesn't display anything (both screens sit in sleep mode).
