CD Projekt RED Group Spring Conference live tomorrow at 5:00 PM GMT

People say it is not spring until you can plant your foot upon twelve daisies. GOG.com has proven otherwise, and you knew it’s spring after eight daisies already: Legend of Grimrock, Treasure Adventure Game, Trine, The Whispered World, Machinarium, Wing Commander 4, Spacechem, and Darwinia. However, as many a sudden change takes place on a spring day, we’re about to reveal another four amazing daisies tomorrow during CD Projekt RED Group Spring Conference.

The harvest of a whole year depends on what you sow in the springtime. And this year, oh boy, we’re into some serious sowing. During CD Projekt RED Group Spring Conference we will:
* tell you what has changed on GOG.com in case you missed it
* offer a sneak peek at future GOG.com releases
* give you a special gift as a big, sweet “thank you” to our users

Remember that those who arrive to the spring first, drink the purest water-- or
Remember that spring won't come from one flower--we need plenty of you to watch the CD Projekt RED Group Spring Conference!

jdwohlever: Personally, I don't understand all the whining and complaining. GoG is one of the few good game retailers out there. Not only do they keep their prices reasonable but they offer games that other outlets won't touch because their think their "too old to be worth the trouble". I'm 39 years old and the current crop of whining gamers shame me to say I'm a gamer. GoG and Interplay is giving you something totally FREE and you have the stupidity to complain? Get off your high horse and stop thinking the world owes you everything you want.

Thank you GoG for all the free games you have given me, even though I hadn't bought one single item from you until last month! No one else would ever do that. Your generosity is what propelled me to start buying games from GoG.
Amusingly, that bolded part is precisely the reason why some old timers (who've bought almost every noteworthy game here) complain. ;)

Pheace: Did you miss all the free games on Greenmangaming? :)
Or the ones on Steam like Portal/Team Fortress 2/Alien Swarm? :)
Not sure about GG but I wouldn't be shocked if they gave out some freebies too ^^
I have memberships from all of those sites, but GoG is the only site that I would be gone for 6 months or so, come back and Boom, automatically free games on my virtual game shelf. Most all other websites you have to do something, (be active in forums, tweet ads for them etc). I've been a member here for 897 days as of today. Last month I bought my first game from them, today was the first time I posted. I do like other game sites and I'm not putting them down, I was only saying this was the only one I know of that rewarded me for practically nothing, and still carry the classics and don't charge an arm and a leg for them. :)

PS. Whats GG?

As for people complaining about them giving us Fallout, I'm glad. I've played Fallout 3 and New Vegas but never got to play the original game that started it all. So to me, this is a great gift.

GG is GamersGate.

The complaints there are based upon this being a repeat of the last give away where many of us were left out in the cold. At least this time there was a statement explaining the situation.

IMHO, it would likely go over a lot better if there were added bonuses included with the giveaway just so that nobody is left with absolutely nothing extra as a result. Sort of like what they did with Broken Sword, which IIRC was the last game they gave away that had and is for sale here.

But, at least this time we've got an explanation of why they couldn't give an alternate game for previous owners. A large part of the problem last time was that they ignored the people who were left out of the giveaway and allowed it to start to fester without addressing it at all.
Heck guys, all I can say is, CONGRATULATIONS on the XBOX move-on! I don't own a console myself and don't intend to, but I'd imagine that if it works fine, then it's a nice piece of success.
I bought both Fallouts in the promo last year, but I can't say I'm disappointed with it being a giveaway just now. I still think it's pretty sweet of you to give this opportunity to those quick of the click. ;)
Congratulations again, and see you around!

Cheers from Poland ^_^
Yes!! Fallout for free until 7th! Thanks GOG!
I have a copy of the Fallout Trilogy Pack that I used to play on my Windows XP based computer before it died out. After that I tried to get the games running on my newer computer, and while they work perfectly fine I've had a minor (yet annoying) problem with the overall display. I'm not sure if it's fixable on Windows 7 or not but the coloring of the textures and cutscenes in the games are weird and out of place, making it hard to distiguish certain things on screen.
I noticed that the version I bought was compatible with XP and Vista, but no mention of 7, so perhaps it is just a problem with running it on the OS. And seeing as your sites version of the game is Windows 7 compatible that gives me hope that I won't run in to this problem once I download it. :)
Thanks for being awesome!
Keep up the good work!
I missed the conference, but just watched the video. Good conference for you guys, and it was clear and easy to follow.

I'm really pleased about you releasing the Enhanced Edition of Witcher 2 for free to those who already own it. I suspected you might do this based on how you released the Enhanced Edition of the original Witcher game. And having a GOG backup of the original Witcher as well is much appreciated and totally unexpected.

All I can say is - you guys are awesome for doing this. I've heard some cynical talk on other game forums about you having to patch your games after release to get the full experience, yada yada, but I don't think that's fair at all. I don't see many other game developers taking the time and effort to really polish up a game with extra content and releasing it for free any more. Some developers used to do that in the past (Epic Games comes to mind with Unreal Tournament), but nowadays it's all about DLC and milking gamers.

So CD Projekt gets a round of applause and much appreciation for treating your customers right. It's good to see you expanding to other platforms as well.

I hope the revamp and other changes to GOG.com go well for you, and it will remain my first stop for DRM free 'added value' gaming well into the future.

There are a lot of great Kickstarter projects starting up, and I hope you can talk to some of these developers to convince them to bring their games to GOG in the future. And maybe you can use a Jedi Mind Trick on Lucasarts to get them involved as well.

There's not much more to say - except Thank You.
Some goodies goodness that I did not make, from the irc channel.

Marcin has awesome facial expressions.

I'm quite happy. I had Fallout a long time ago, but somehow over the years it managed to disappear. The main reason I hadn't repurchased it here yet is that in the intervening years there have been so many good games that are now available here, and unfortunately I can't buy everything I want. I would have gotten it eventually, but I appreciate getting it for free.

So thanks, GoG.
There isn't an excuse to complain about how GoG is doing business. This site, along with CD Project's outlook on DRM, dealing with piracy (re: TW2 Pirates, shotgun lawsuits/threats), AND listening to it's fanbase really helps kick both of these companies up the reputation ladder.

Free things are cool, free things with more "extras" is even better, and the fact that CD Project and GoG are completely fair in their dealings across the board makes it even easier to support their businesses as they are one of the few retailers and publishers out there that don't look to screw the customer.
90% of gog.com's huge userbase didn't own Fallout so they get it free.. Hey that's good. They finally get a chance to experience a great game.

Now, 10% of a "huge userbase" sounds like a lot of people that are missing out too.

"Thank you"

No gog.com.. thank you!
Just watched the recording, sounds good. I like the idea of the free iPad comic of the Witcher and not just the down swipe on the woman's top. I'll be picking up a couple of premium editions it seems.
Once again, too bad you guys never mentioned any original Witcher books when talking about your games. I read almost all of them (except the last one) and found them to be really good. I do confess I never played WItcher, though, thus I do not know how far it is from the initial source.

Anyway, what I wanted to say primarily is something else. I see myself GOG as a largely (not to say "almost-exclusively) PC-gaming focused community. And while I do not really mind listening to whatever news you would like to provide us with, I would like to know how many users apart from myself felt the Conference was targeted mostly at someone else (i.e. non-GOG people)? I mean, I do not know how much people here play on consoles and Mac-related devices (I do not and do not plan to in any forseeable future). So I was curious to find out whether GOG-members (and there seemed to be lots of them on the stream) were the right target-group for this conference (except for the last 15-20 minutes, of course).

It was also interesting to see how everything GOG-related was put to the very end (except for Witcher 2 backup - a good move I have to say). It was logical, of course, since you were supposed to advertise the web-site and announce the sweet Fallout giveaway (thanks for that, by the way, I am one of those who never tried/owned the game). But I got a double "funny guess" idea about such order also.
1. GOG is less important than XBox and iOS since it comes last (insert random rage here).
2. GOG is the most important thing of all people had to say and show there so as the best it was put to be the last. To keep people glued to their screens. :P

On a side not, why was Jesse so timid and why was the auditorium so silent? Was it comprised of non-English-speaking GOG-employees, who were grumpy to stay over-time? Or just shy, perhaps?

We did address it last time, actually, but perhaps that got lost in the noise. Also we just gave *everyone* a free game. All of you. New fans. Old. No matter how many games from our catalog you had, Treasure Adventure Game was a free retro thanks from us to you.

Now we've *also* given away Fallout for free; we knew that some people (many of you, actually) would already have this game, but such a huge majority of you do not. I'm sorry if you guys are unhappy about this, but we've literally done everything we could to make sure that no one would feel that they hadn't gotten something from GOG to reward them for being part of our growth and success.
