3 days left till diablo 3 release so I might as well make a theard.

I have to be honest though I have never played Diablo..........at all or Torchlight because I'm too busy playing other RPGs I never played before like Fallout 1 and Morrowind and Dragon Age Origins PC version (I played the console version but when my brother got his new computer I immedietly puchased the PC version from steam since it's the lead platform)

anyways I might reconsider and try out Diablo 3 but I won't be able to play it because my brother will be hogging it all to himself for a long time (he loved Diablo 2 so much he does not care about the online drm or real money micotranactions) so is anyone here still hyped about getting Diablo III despite it's flaws?

No.
maybe. awfully tempted.
not sure, if you would have asked me 2 years ago I would have been 100 % sure that i would, but now...

I do not like the forced online aspect (the fact that i couldn't get into the open beta only confirmed my fears about that). I have torchlight 2 preordered and have an insanely huge backlog (over 300 games) and add to that that my funds are not what they used to be, I think i'll skip (i also feel 60 euro for a pc game is a bit too much...)

i said i before and i will say it again: yes diablo 3 has an always online drm but at least they balanced it out by making it multiplayer/co-op oriented and yes there is that alleged P2W model but you don't need to buy anything at the auction house thats for casuals and even if it unbalanced the game it only affects the pvp side of the game and not the co-op/dungeon crawling part it which imo is what diablo is supposed to be, but of course I'm surprised that most people here prefer offline single player diablo and I respect that I like single-player too but I'm just saying that Diablo III issues is not as bad as playing Assassin's Creed 2 with a constant internet connection or playing Crysis with SecuROM or Playing Dark Souls using GFWL and who knows hopefully mabye blizzard will offer a offline single player in a future patch since Starcraft II has one then we can just hope

I didn't really like D2 or multiplayer, but all those threads here sure got me tempted.

Edit: And how many threads do we need about this game anyway ....?

No.

Played Diablo 1/2 when they first came out and haven't touched them since. (Tried multiplayer Diablo 2 but it bored me).

I'm also one of those that prefered Diablo 1 to 2.

Can't play Diablo 3 offline so it's a no go.

Now if in 3 years I've looked through the stats and there has been 0% downtime with the game and if it's F2P (meaning not even having to buy the game) then I'll consider it but even then I'd still play it solo and I'll still have a even larger backlog of singleplayer games where I don't have to deal with online bullshit.

Diablo 1 is still the better Diablo :P
The always-online requirement severely diminished my enthusiasm for the game - unless an offline patch is created at some point in the future, I'll most probably stick to Diablo 1&2.

@JudasIscariot
True that!

Few hours downtime every Wednesday morning (usually from 3-4 to 6-7 AM)... Actually, every Tuesday morning for you guys in the US.
No.

Going to get Tochlight 2 instead.

Too many things put me off Diablo 3.
Not excited and not getting. Listed reasons too many times already. Will be looking at Torchlight II, of course.
Diablo 2 is my favorite game, but i don't think i'm buying D3. Too many issues, the DRM is the biggest but i'm disappointed by many other things, including discrimination against people who play on HC, they won't have acces to the auction house, they'll die all the time because of the DRM, etc.

EDIT: I think i'll wait till it appears on GoG :P

No it's almost as bad and i'm not playing those either for the same reasons... BUT if you do not mind those inconveniences by all means have fun! It´s really a matter of opinion, if it doesn´t bother you ( and i mean that in a general sense) than it´s better for you, because you will actually enjoy it,
