GameRager: If you had to classify yourself as being more of one or the other, which would it be?
I'd be MechaFurFuck The Kawaii.

GameRager: Lol.......so BOTH then? Interesting. So how goes your day then?
My day hasn't really been going on long enough for me to be able to pas judgement on it. But so far so good. How about you?

It's the tassels, isn't it? Everyone loves the tassels.

tejozaszaszas: What do you think about Sonic 3d Blast, for example?

brendano: I really like 3D Blast. Keeping your speed up and tackling enemies takes alot of talent. If you can clear the levels quickly too, then you'll look really impressive. My jaw dropped the first time I saw the game, couldn't believe what I was seeing on my Genesis.

I'm really looking forward to SEGA's surprises this year for Sonic's big anniversary. Sonic Colors and Sonic 4 were both terrific, not as good as Sonic Unleashed though. I really I hope they do a big multiplatform release and use the hedgehog engine again, that engine is the most impressive tech ever.
I like Sonic 3D blast, but I found Sonic´s movement weird, it seems like he´s skating.
And Genesis version is much better that the Saturn one. I love the Genesis (here Mega Drive) Sountrack.

(0:35) I know this music was used on another Sonic, but i can´t remember wich one... Maybe Sonic Adventure?

I'm worried. I already did, does that mean I have already been persuadetronized or... *screams wildly and hits head* HOW WILL I EVER KNOW?
On Sonic: Why haven't they updated the PC version of Sonic CD for post Win95 systems?

On Weeawhatthefuckevers: I hate Japanese animated shows and comics (I'm not calling them "anime" or "manga", because those are just the Japanese words for "animated show" and "comics"). The "hero" is always some perpetually self-conflicting dipshit who never gets the girl because he can't get over his own insecurities. I barely tolerate Japanese developed games, such as Mega Man X and the like, because the game itself far outweighs the wimpy whining by X at the end. "OMG! Why must we Reploids fight so?" Because you were developed to be human-like, and humans fight, enjoy it. Final Fantasy pisses me off, more on that lately.

Why not enjoy a decent foreign (if you live in the USA) comic book, like XIII? Or Diabolik?

Thanks for your opinion... even though it doesn't really matter to anybody but yourself.

That being said, people like what they like.... if you don't like it... good for you, but no need to try to rain on others parades. I am a fan of Anime, Manga & JRPGs & you don't see me going on a thread where other cultural forms of entertainment are being discussed & talking about how much everything else sucks in comparison. Hell, I think the vast majority of Western RPGs are terrible (the only company I like that makes them is Bethesda) but I never start bashing them when others who are fans are discussing them. That would be bad Etiquette.
My, my... this couldn't be much less pleasant, could it? This is why I usually don't talk about anime and more than half of my interests with other people. At the risk of finding myself personally offended (as opposed to offended by proxy), I'll just go ahead and avoid chiming in too much about what you guys think about other people. Defending oneself on the internet is an exercise in futility. Trust me, I know... ¬_¬

I'm just surprised I'm agreeing with Roberttitus so much. O_O

As for the anniversary, I don't expect much. Puyo Puyo only got worse after Tsu, and the GBA game (Puyo Pop\Minna de Puyo Puyo) was the last one I liked. Hated the PPF games. As for Sonic, I'm one of the three people who liked Spinball and 3D Blast. Didn't care for Sonic Adventure too much, it's fun to play once in a while if only for nostalgia, but I liked pretty much everything from Sonic 1 to Sonic Pocket Adventure. After that, I couldn't give a damn. I liked the cartoons, had some toys, pajamas, (...and Mario briefs. I was born in '87, in case you're wondering. Contrary to what some people say, you didn't have to be a fanboy cultist and like one or the other back then!), etc when I was younger. For better or worse, I'm definitely a Sonic fan.

Don't expect much for this anniversary. That "mysterious project" page is dated in January. I wouldn't be surprised if Sega Classics Collection Gold is supposed to be part of that, along with the next episode of Sonic 4 and a game where Sonic has a crossbow and turns into a squid.

I'm all for being pleasantly surprised, but even if it was good I doubt I'd care anyway. The music, art style, level design, all of that is stuff that I doubt they'd ever return to. The series doesn't look, sound, or feel anything like it used to, and if Sega has been listening to their fanbase, well, there's a monumental part of the problem right there.

GameRager: And what's wrong with ******* then? At least they're not as bad as weeaboos.
He's probably one of those types who believe in some vague notion of Internet purity. Don't try to reason with him.

I'm disappointed in you though for ragging on weeaboos. Internet freaks ought to stick together.

As for the topic itself...uh...I was always more of a Mario player.

Sounds to me like the only Japanese animation and comics you've seen have been the ones aimed at teenagers and children. You should maybe check out one intended for adults. I recommend Paranoia Agent, or maybe the Tatami Galaxy for something more unorthodox.

Yeah, I'm gonna celebrate Sonic's 20th. I'm a pretty big fan. I'll probably invite people over to play Sonic games, which is something I do with some regularity anyway.

@LordKukuru: As in, Lord Kukuru from the 80s movie Unico in the Island of Magic?! I thought I was the only one who remembered that.

Naw, I've seen Gantz, too. Unless Japanese parents are looser with what they let their kids watch, I'm pretty sure this one is aimed at adults. I watched fifteen episodes, and they'd only hunted down two or three aliens in the span of those fifteen half-hours. The rest of that time was spend on whining and useless introspection. I remember thinking "Is this show about kids whining about their new lives as alien-hunting clones, with the actual alien-hunting a side story that we only see little bits of? Or vice-versa?".

For a while I enjoyed Robotech (The Macross Saga), but then that "love triangle" thing happened between Hikaru, Linn Minmay, and the one bridge officer whose name escapes me. It wasn't so much of a "love triangle" as "two people who pine after two other people, respectively, who don't even know the two former people exist, because the two former people haven't the guts to tell them how they feel, even though they have the courage to fight cyclopean-sized aliens in the middle of deep space in a sort of Voyager-type situation".

This isn't, however, to say that I don't like the visual style. I like the Japanese directed films based on US or European intellectual properties, like SiN, Dead Space, and Transformers: The Movie, and the Japanese contributions to the Halo and The Matrix animated short film omnibii.

And there are some wholly-Japanese properties that I enjoy, like Shin-chan (as I understand it, the English dialogues are just about the same as the Japanese original dialogues), OH! Mikey, and Cowboy Bebop.

@LordKuruku

I also enjoyed Sonic Spinball, probably because I'm a pinball freak, and am self-obligated to enjoy all pinball games ever. And maybe also because it was a good game. I also had the PC-CDROM version of Sonic 3D Blast, which I assume was the same as the Saturn version and not the Genesis/32X version. I think I might have beaten it once, but without have collecting all the Chaos Emeralds, and was almost all the way through a playthrough where I HAD collected them all, but I had to set it aside for boot camp. I never got around to finishing it.
