The Sonic series gave some really good games (4 or 5), many average ones and some really awful.
What do you think about Sonic 3d Blast, for example?

Mario has never, ever had a game as bad as the Sonic the Hedgehog reboot from...2006 I believe. If you've never seen it, seek out a Let's Play. It is mind numbing how bad the game is on every level. The worst part is it had promise, it could have been a good game. But every single thing in it is broken.

Back on topic: I'm interested in Sonic 4, but the whole episode thing bugs me. I don't really want to plunk down 800 (or whatever it's going for) points for a game I'll finish in three/four hours when I could pick up one of the Mega Man games for the same price, OR buy a indy game like ZP2k10 and have limitless multiplayer fun.

When they put all the episodes out on a disc or in a discounted bundle I'm sure I'll snap it up. But I'll just feel stupid for paying 800 per episode then seeing the entire thing go for 1600 a year later.

In most respects they're as bad as each other. But I have to admit that furfags are frequently hilarious. The same can't be said for weeaboos. So yeah, maybe you're onto something there.

Navagon: For one thing I don't think that Mario has featured in as many outright terrible games over the years. Even if he has there's been plenty of good ones to counterbalance. I don't think that the same can be said of Sonic.

Also I don't think that the fan abuse of Mario is even in the same ballpark. You see, Mario doesn't attract in the furfags the way Sonic does. What has been seen cannot be unseen.

I really like 3D Blast. Keeping your speed up and tackling enemies takes alot of talent. If you can clear the levels quickly too, then you'll look really impressive. My jaw dropped the first time I saw the game, couldn't believe what I was seeing on my Genesis.

I'm really looking forward to SEGA's surprises this year for Sonic's big anniversary. Sonic Colors and Sonic 4 were both terrific, not as good as Sonic Unleashed though. I really I hope they do a big multiplatform release and use the hedgehog engine again, that engine is the most impressive tech ever.
