Um, so what's the point?
The guy wears underwear, no big deal. In fact, it's quite relieving to know that he has his priorities right; instead of finding his boots and pants, he fights off Taliban.

Also, who cares if they were pink or had "I love NY" on them. Anything to keep from the blandness of everyone wearing CKs.

That.. soldier... kicks... so much.. ASS!
I think its awesome that he was fighting the Taliban in pink boxers, especially ones that say "I Love NY" on them. How appropriate for a soldier on the front lines of the "War on Terror".

I don't see the big deal about that article - is it faulting the soldier for lack of discipline, or commenting on the hilarity of the situation, or what? Because as an ex-soldier myself, having gone outfield, I totally understand the need to take out my uniform, especially when the weather's humid.
It's quite pathetic to see the media running out of things to talk about these days. The article can be summarised as "hey today there was a soldier shooting bad guys in his I<3NY boxers kthxbye"
-edit- Also I have to mention it's in poor taste to call the guy an idiot, simply because.

Guys, I think that most of us would do much, MUCH worse if somebody started shooting and we had to leave the bunker in our underwear.
I mean, i dont know about you, but right now i'm wearing a yellow boxer full of little jolly rogers :-P (the pirate flag's skull&bones)

*shrug* I figure they started out white, then he washed them with that red shirt, and the shirt dye ran and stained the boxers. Big deal.
Now if it was thong underwear... *shudders*
Oh yeah, and the fact that he likes NY (and the rest of the US) is the whole reason he's on the firing line to begin with.
