I'm going to pick "To the Moon". The gameplay can be annoying, but I was totally engrossed with the touching story and mesmerized about the way it's told backwards, so that the oldest events through the life of the patient there lend new meanings to most recent, but previously seen, ones.

For me the most unique game I ever played was Earthbound.. the graphics have a timeless look to it, the music is just wow and the humor was just plain awesome.. I have finished the game 5 times and am playing through it for the 6th time now

My vote goes to "New York Blitz"
An old Vic 20 game.
You are a cold war bomber pilot coming back from a mission with a shot up plane.
You are losing altitude and not going to make it back to base.
You are left with 2 choices:
Either crash in the middle of New York with a full bomb bay
OR
Flatten enough of the city to make yourself a landing strip.

Can you imagine a game like that being made today?

Drawing is complete now. There were so many good (and unknown to me) games that I had to add a second copy of Botanicula to the pot. So we've got two winners, arduously selected based on their posts and some winnowing by the RNG. A copy of Botanicula will be PM'ing its way shortly to JohnWalrus and akhliber.
