Brilliant games :) I'm afraid I can't think of another like it though - Ultima games may be to your liking but none of those are in a similar style.

Sadly I never got hooked by Ultima so the search go on.

Yeah somehow CotW felt different than other Roguelikes. I can't put my finger on what it is but others that have played it tend to feel the same. At least the ones I've spoken to.

Nope, ive been looking. THere are non quiet like COTW. Most feel older and bloated even if they are newer then COTW. COTW was the only Rouglike ive found using a windows based gameplay and graphics, making it the single best rougelike out there,.
Someone meantioned Exile before, and while its a great game... there are better of the same out there by the people who made it, spiderweb, If you liked exile try out the Geneforge and Anveren series

Demos of both can be aquired legally from spiderwebs site, and, through legally purchasing or other more dubious means the full version may be unlocked from these demos

For the Wii, there is final fantasy fables: Chocobo dungeon, Baroque, Shiren the wanderer.
for the DS, there is Izuni: the unemployed ninja 1,2 , shiren the wanderer ds.
