Yep, it was nothing more than a joke, but everyone agreed that being able to view your games end-on was actually a good idea (for those of us with extensive collections).

I like the fact that the cover arts aren't glossy in that Virtual Game Shelf 2.0 picture; they look so much better that way. Having them glossy at all just seems a gimmicky way to make them look newer, it reminds me of those userbars people have in their signatures on some forums. I'm sure that the effect was cool when it first came out, but it just seems worn out, in my opinion.
