Crosmando: Thoughts: Guns seem more powerful than magic. In the first fight my Mage either missed all his energy blasts or caused minor damage, and I killed all enemies (including a Shaman at huge range with a shotgun (!) in a single blast) with my gun-wielding sidekicks

Graphics are awesome. Music is awesome, like Crusader: No Regret but more fast.

Combat is more tactical than I thought it would be. You can use cover well.
I don't really know Shadowrun, but by RPG conventions I'd assume it's a case of the Mage starting of a wimp and getting really powerful later on? At least I hope so, I always prefer playing mages.
Yeah, dialogues seem well written too. The game only has portraits, no voice-acting, and text, but the atmospheric music and writing makes it really immersive.
Can't believe I've got the game installed and I'm still watching the WTF is ... before playing it xD

I guess partly it's down to the game getting stuck when i alt tabbed out when i tried it before.

Same here. I alt tabbed out and got a black screen - not a great first impression to be honest.
Shadowrun Returns and my girl passing her RN board exam on the same day? What is this, Christmas?
The no grenade thing on normal is BS though, I had grenades thrown at me in first fight
So, um, this may be a silly question, but how do I claim my copy/Steam key? In an earlier update it said keys were sent out a little while ago, but I never received one. Do I need to register at the HBS website?

Nothing at all? You should have received something. I received my key a while ago. You can make an account here: https://account.harebrained-schemes.com if you haven't already

Hm. Well, I already went through my e-mail trash bin in case I accidentally deleted said e-mail, but it doesn't look like I ever received a key since they said they were going to send them out 'shortly'. =/

Edit:
WHOOPS! Looks like I actually already had an account on their site - don't even remember doing that. Anyway, I was able to get my Steam key simply by logging in and looking at my account info...

And I looked at the DRM-free downloads: a limit of 10 downloads? Really? What's even more bizarre they have download limits on the wallpapers, too. WTF?!? Oh well, I'll be registering my Steam key and that'll be that, but I still think this is fucked up.

So far so good. Although I'd like some introduction to the game's world in the tutorial or whatever.

That's strange, the trailer had an annoying voice-over telling about the world but the game itself doesn't have anything?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I got dropped in the middle of the game's world, being told some shit about the runners and other words I don't understand and no real explanation...

there is in-game help of course, but well...

It's not a problem, I'll educate myself, but I'd like to see some cinematic intro at least! (I didn't skip it accidentaly, did I?)
Ok, how the hell am I supposed to enter my Backer Reward code? The code is friggin' huge and there's not enough room for it in the box.

EDIT: Never mind, got it working.

I think that's by design, it's supposed to just throw you into the world with all sorts of crap you don't understand, but as you progress you learn more by talking to NPCs and seeing stuff. I mean if you put the setting of Shadowrun into a few sentences, it would sound ridiculous, it's probably better to "show not tell".

To my knowledge, there is no cinematics.

Anyway, if you have any questions about the setting, feel free to ask. I'm a pen & paper veteran, in fact Shadowrun is the pen & paper RPG that I've GMd the most, and while I'm not quite up to date with all the latest and greatest things in the game (the vast majority of my SR experience comes from 3rd edition), I'll at least be able to fill you in on the basics.
