no, the first one is my desktop the second one is my laptop.
I'm on a Mac laptop right now, so I'll try to help. But what do you mean by saying that the screen is in the middle? Could you post a screenshot?

no im on a windows, and the graphics mode thing does not work for me. :(
It sounds like you need to change the scaling options in your graphics card driver control panel. How you do that on a mac is beyond me though.

No, as I said before, I'm on a windows 7 and the games with the new Mac update go to the middle of the screen so I can't play.

…okay, let's just ignore the "mac update" bit and focus on your system. What graphics card do you have?

If it's an ATi/AMD card, see here.

What do you mean by that? Can you explain it a bit more? Or even better post a screenshot of it (press "print" button on keyboard, open paint from startmenu, paste, save, attach image to post).

Ok, well what I said still applies. Are these games that didn't do this before the mac support was added? Because I'm thinking the common factor might not be that there are mac versions, but that they're all DOSBox based games.
Either way, what I said still applies: It sounds like the scaling options need changing.

I'm pretty sure he's on centred timings, that is it shows display modes lower resolution than the screen by showing them in the middle of the screen at the native resolution instead of scaling them.

In that case he should still be able to play the game, just not as desired through, but he said he can't play the game...
Hope your right through, as that would be easy to fix then.

Well, the only other possibility I can think of (image alignment problem on a VGA connection) is even easier to fix on most monitors.

If the Dosbox setup doesn't use a scaler, that means he'll be running 320x200 on a monitor designed for 1366x768 or higher. That's likely pretty unplayable especially for some. I've bad a couple of games do this to me on my laptop. Small picture, the rest is black.

A good starting suggestion to verify this though would be "Please hold down Alt and press enter" This should force the game into a window on the desktop. If the game goes into a window and is the same size, then yes it looks like either the graphics card settings might need tweaking to ask it to nicely scale the game, or the dosbox configuraton file could in fact have been altered (for Mac?) to run fullscreen at the native resolution, but still not use a scaler. This, I believe, should also cause this, gfx card settings or not, since Dosbox is actually running the game in 1366x768. It's just not got enough graphics data to fill it out.
But as far as I can tell, the only way to get Dosbox to stick in a higher resolution than the game is outputting is by specifying fullresolution=<resolution> in the .conf file for the game. Might be worth a look though.

I wasn't trying to pick on his wording, guess I just took what he said too literal, and yes, you're right, it would probably be pretty unplayable. Anyways, I was just asking for more information to see if I can help him out.

Sounds like he has the same problem you had, if that is the case, it might be good if you both send a description of the problem to support ( if you havn't already), so that they can add a support article on this problem for less experienced users.
I'm pretty confident that it is centred timings. There are ways to fix this by changing the DOSBox configuration, but changing it from centred timings to "maintain aspect ratio" is probably the best way, as it's a system wide fix.
