Sad news

scampywiak: Ok, what happened, did this man kill himself? I'm sorry either way.

Theta_Sigma: From what has been said it was a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Not sure on the details, something about him being in a bathroom and his wife trying to talk him out of it. It's sad what depression can do, and I feel bad for all those involved in that situation. I wish there was something that could be done, but sadly there isn't much beyond condolences. :(
Not to be that guy, but it was incredibly selfish of him to not only put his wife through the pain of losing a husband to suicide, but to also burden her with doing it basically in front of her as she tried to stop him.

He may have been a wonderful man most of the time, but that was a pretty dickish way of going out.
Between this and a friend's son dying and someone I know (of's) mom dying, today was not happy news day.
I'm just so sorry I can't even words worth anything, I'm just so sorry for all these losses and all the people effected by them.
I won't lie I haven't watched many of his Videos, not because I dislike them but because I just haven't had a lot of time to, you usually have to watch someone a fair few times before you grow accustomed to their style and I'm sorry to say I didn't put time aside to do that while he was alive.

My best hopes and everything to everyone who cared about him, his Wife, his family, Brad Jones clearly cared a lot about him too; he wrote a touching post about him you can read here.
Rest in peace buddy, I'm sorry Depression won.

//Redacted all upset swearing in advance, I get emotional and I get...yeah, sorry.

To call suicide selfish...is selfish. We can't know what a person is going through internally. It's unfair to label these people as cowards.
I am in shock, Justin seemed like the nicest guy, someone I'd imagine it'd be really difficult to not get along with... I can't even begin to imagine what he must have been going through behind the scenes.

Wow, I have to almost applaud the level of dickishness of this post......

I've been sad but stoic all day after hearing the news... I just watched this and completely lost it, that was one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever seen.

I think I may rewatch Kickassia, Suburban Knights, To Boldly Flee, and some of his YCPT/YCCT videos in honour of his passing. I know it's not much but it's my way to tribute to the joy that he brought others in his life. :(

I think I might just do the same.
Hopefully people will seek help and not hold anything inside. There are problems, yes, but none are so unsolvable so that the person needs to take his/hers life for them :(

Shocking news :( I haven't seen any of his videos, only a cameo on Kickassia :(

That's the thing though, suicide IS selfish. Just look at what he did to his wife. There she is trying to talk him down, doubtless going to be haunted for the rest of her life, and he goes and fucking blows his head off.

On what world is that not selfish? There's treatment out there for people who feel like that, and quite frankly, this whole business is unbelievable selfish.

I had a friend that killed himself when I was in high school and this kind of bad, fucking attitude just ensures that there will be more deaths. Suicide is an incredibly self centered reaction in virtually every case. He had problems, they could have been fixed. He chose to leave his wife in a situation where she's going to be haunted for the rest of her life. Any life insurance that he might of had, won't be paid out because it was suicide.

Then there's the other loved ones that care about him.

Don't be such a fucking tool. Suicide is an incredibly selfish action and pretending like it's somehow justifiable in cases where a person isn't terminally ill is just bullshit. The last thing we need is for more people to kill themselves because they feel like shit and want to leave a lasting impression.

No matter what problems you got suicide ain't the right way to solve em so agree with hedwards on this. The only thing you do when you kill yourself is to put the ones that care about you on ethereal suffering...

Guy could've been going through a lot but killing yourself solves nothing... may his family find peace.
I've had some real low points in my life, but I can't even imagine how bad things could be for someone to kill themselves with their wife on the other side of the door trying to talk them out of it.

A sad situation all around. Thoughts go out to his family to get them through this as best as possible.
