Seems the drugs (considering that was the culprit, logic says a big yes) took another talented, although reckless life.
We don't know the cause of death yet, officially at least.
We all make assumptions.
Nevertheless these are sad news. She was a young talented girl.

If the videos I've seen are any indication she wasn't really that talented. She's got a raspy voice and I'm sure there are any number of other folks out there than can sing better. And a subset wouldn't take it for granted the way that she did.

Drugs and alcohol are really not conducive to putting out a quality record.

It's like anything else if you want to be the best you have to put in your time, and make sacrifices. I get the distinct feeling that she's more studio creation than actual talent.

Indeed, but that being said it's likely that it was an OD or complications from the drug use over the years. People don't just drop dead at 27 typically.

I didn't say she had a talent for singing ;)

Might be I meant she had a talent for,... for... avoiding rehab?

Ah. Well yeah, for better of for worse being a celeb does require talent. Hence why I'm not one. Personally, I just don't care for her timbre.

Given the amount of time and effort I've put into singing, I definitely could front a band, I just can't stand the publicity and the fame. In a way a bit like my idol Harry Nillson.
Shit. For all her drug abusive habits, her songs are decent. Shame to see her go like that, but yeah not much of a surprise there. No chance of her next solo turning up on the next Bond movie I guess.

We tried to make her go to re-hab but she said "no, no, no."
*shrug*

Soooo not surprised. And personally, I'm kind of offended that everyone gives such a huge fuck about her dying when that tragedy happened in Norway - kids camp and 17 slaughtered is more heartbreaking IMHO.

She was just a puppet. These kids weren't.
^This

But still, RIP.
/End thread.

Judging for the number of comments and the subject-matter of them I would rather say hardly anybody's giving a fuck about Amy Winehouse death here. And many people are moved and horrifyed with Norway massacre...

I have over 1k friends. Mostly Australian and Kiwi. Excuse them for being ignorant savages. Somehow, your comment comes across as even more ignorant and savage-like than them being more concerned about Winehouse than Norway.

In other words: keep my friends out of it.
EVERY death is a tragedy, no matter if it's self inflicted or not..

One death just cannot be more "important" than another..

But that's just me talking..
