Just kidding, I just want to find out if I should get the game. I'm one of the lucky few to still have this game being sold locally, but I'm afraid they'll take the game out of shelves soon, so I just want to find out about people's opinions on it
Let's see, I'm not that big a hack-n-slash fan. Diablo 2 made me fall asleep while playing. But, I don't mind a good hack-n-slash from time to time, especially if it has a vibrant world, like Sacred. Also, from reviews, Revenant seems to encourage some console style fighting system, instead of the same boring clickfest. So, would any of you recommend it? Is it different from other hack n slashes?
I got it (big boxed) and IMO is a very good action rpg. I really enjoyed it back in the day ^___^

Can you elaborate how it's good?

You didn't read his actual post did you?
IMO it's not as good as Nox or Arcanum, but all the martial arts combos, different weapons, spells and armors make it quite unique. I would put it on the same level as Darkstone or the recent Avencast.

Sure thing.

Is the game more of the same throughout? Do the environments look more or less the same, and despite the combat's uniqueness, will the game still feel very same-y throughout?
I like Avencast but I'm not sure Darkstone has really captured my attention based on the demo back then. Hey I just realised there's a demo for Revenant too lol. I think I'll try it, and if I have anymore queries, I'll post back here again. Thanks man.

I did, and he's making the same point despite the "just kidding" flag.

I thought he was more asking whether he should get it or not. A consultation of sorts, not a request for it to be on GOG. I feel like he should have titled the thread "Should I get Revenant" or "Is Revenant any good?"

No I'm not. I'm just a 20-min bus ride away from getting the game. Now I'm not kidding.

Weeelllll I thought a different title would get more attention :P

I've installed the Revenant demo but it doesn't work. Crashes with the "Revenant has encountered an error bla bla" before it even manages to get to the intro or main menu or whatever. I'm on WinXP. Has anyone gotten it to work successfully?

Never mind I figured how to get it to work. It's got nothing to do with XP I think. It appears the game will only run if you force software rendering. Damn it.

Aw damn it, the game runs very sluggishly on software mode. Daaaamn it. ElPixel, did you manage to get the game running with hardware acceleration in WinXP?
I may just have to give this game a pass if I can't guarantee it to work properly. Such a shame, the combat was pretty fun for a hacknslash
The best hack-n-slash Diablo clone that I know of is Titan Quest. Nuff said.
I'm gonna check my copy.
EDIT: Damn it! I've tried but I got the same problem. Also, if you don't use the "limit speed" option the game goes toooooo fast. =(

Thanks for helping. It sucks to know Revenant doesn't work nice with XP. Ah well, it's a shame, I guess I will have to give it a pass. I really wanted to play it =\
Let's hope GOG bring it here with full compatibility.
