Grab a front seat--this is one wild ride you will never forget

Finally, the trilogy is complete: GOG.com brings Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 back to your PCs in a definitive digital bundled-with-extras DRM-free package with the Soaked! and Wild! add-ons, all for just $19.99.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Platinum! is a construction and management simulator, in which the player runs an amusement park by building rides, managing finances, hiring staff, and keeping the “peeps” happy. The game features career mode, in which players complete predesigned scenarios, and new sandbox mode where you can literally spend days and weeks designing the greatest roller coaster PC monitors have ever witnessed. The game utilizes full 3D graphics; that not only means you can rotate the camera and zoom in/out on your guests and amusement rides, but also allows you to use the CoasterCam and cruise along with your thrill-ride visitors.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is all the best from its genre--it’s beautiful to watch, accessible but challenging, enormously entertaining, and incredibly detailed when it comes to managing rides, buildings, salaries, prices, and fees. In addition to that, RCT3 packs a few new elements, like a day/night cycle, creating your own fireworks, adding your own mp3 music to the background, and creating your own groups of visitors. This is a tremendous addition to the series, especially since the Wild! and Soaked! add-ons are included.

Run the greatest amusement park in gaming history, available now on GOG.com for $19.99.

spinefarm: They didn't sacrifice anything ... this way we can see some games that are on DotEmu and not here yet...
Like Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. We already have Redemption. Crossing the fingers to see it here.

That will be a nice edition to GOG for sure!

kavazovangel: Yes, 5-7 +-1 games, IIRC.
(I wonder if you would understand what I mean. :D)
i'm good in math, this was a piece of cake :-) thanks! to you and to SLP2000! i haven't seen your posts before i answered gameon.
GOG is still building it's client base. They are going to expand with indie emphasis masking the releses for the best part to ease the transition, but in the end they will sell right across the board like steam. This is the nature of business.

Ultimately it's we the customer who buy into the initial pitch which is obviously customer centric, and then feel hurt when the full transition to digital distribution platform is complete.

They supply a fair amount of decent old games with patched fixes and thats cool. But in the end its about money. Take refuge in the fact this sites still in an early transition.

Then again, perhaps this market model did not work, and well... it's time to chance the approach. :/
$19.99, LOL.
19.99 what a rip and I thought settlers 2 gold at 9.99 was expensive!, this place has lost it's touch :(

this is rip off
So can anyone give a nostalgia-free opinion on whether RC2 is a better game to start with than 3?

Coelocanth: Okay, you're deliberately overlooking the point, I guess. I'm out.
avatar
spinefarm: Your point is that you have issues with GOG evolving to a bigger digital seller :)
avatar
gameon: Interestingly, the GOG list says pre 2005, and after 2005. So i guess they class anything after 2005 as new, and anything before that old....
avatar
spinefarm: And yet pre 2005 games are on 9.99$ and bellow :)
Since you have only been here on GoG for a few months it would be wise of you NOT to piss on the old community here. You can disagree all you want but at least try to "get" what the old members here are saying. But judging from your posts you are completely unwilling to do that and that makes you look like an ass. What they are saying is that higher price points can be exploited so that we will almost never see cheaper games here. When there was only two price points a game HAD to fit the 10$ at most but now that is not the case. I personally don't share that opinion but I can see why they would say that since it is a VERY significant change to GoG.
In the past the GoG community have been fairly free of people like you that just want to win and pwn others. In the past we could have a civil debate about things so please don't fuck that up by your "submission argumentation" where you just repeat the same thing again and again until people get tired of you and leave. That just pollutes the forums.

And people should learn to use facts over things. If we see more games like that on that high price ok... but so far there is no point in flaming.

Ah the old community argument - I understand the fear they have.... but so far their fear is based on 1 game. If we see let say - 3-4 games like that in months to come - they will have more valid argument.

And yes the game should be released on 10$ .... but Atari are greedy ba*tards - just don't buy the game and wait for 50% off promo :)

Fair enough and I somewhat agree - but the "problem" that many people have is that once the floodgates are open you can't close them again so now that there IS a higher price point GoG can't go back and is hence open to exploitation. But like you said only time will tell and we can always wait for a promo.
For me though RCT3+XP are still cheaper here than if I had to buy them individually on disk here in Denmark so it would be worth it for me but for all those that already own it on disk then this is a rotten deal for them.

And yet there are some countries that you can't buy some games in retail and this is the only way. For instance in the country I live they mostly sell newer titles and they import them from UK. We are not even on their map for gaming sales :)

So yes RCT3 is cheaper for me this way.

For instance Witcher 2 EE is 34.5 euro (retail) and most of the AAA titles are between 39.99 & 49.99 euro in retail ... and they keep their price for a long time, cause we have 2 shops in total that sell retail games...

So it took a bit but my willpower broke down....

I was playing RCT2 and saw my RCT3 discs on the shelf and decided to reinstall.... Couldn't make out one of the CD keys though .....

Then I looked back at the RCT3 page and justified it to myself this way:
1) Cheaper than other DD services (for my region).
2) No more CD keys to mess about with.
3) No DRM to mess about with.
4) Supporting GOG.com (I'm picturing a $9.99 game with a $10 donation heh)
5) Soundtrack ....

Ah well .... I'm glad I did in the end still - it's a great game.... I just hope it doesn't drop in price or appear in a sale within the next 3-4 weeks or that will really be a metaphorical kick in the crotch....

Even with a promo I don't believe Atari will put it that soon after release ;) So your safe for a month :)

Your logic is sound. Perhaps this is the only way I would pay $19.99 for this game, but the cheapskate in me just won't let me.

And those Super Sales is one of those double edged swords we must deal with. I remember paying $20 on Steam for a game and then next week it was a daily deal for $2.99, oh the agony!
