Rrrrrrrnnnn! EEEEEEERRrrrrnNNNNNN!

Vrrrrooom! If you like fast cars, tight turns, and pulse-pounding races, then today's release is sure to please: Race Driver: GRID--known in the US simply as GRiD--screeches over the finish line for just $7.49 this week during its 50% off intro sale.

In GRID, you're a driver with dreams of going big: you start out driving in others' cars for money, but soon enough you'll start your own team, picking the races you want to compete in, buying the cars and equipment that you need to get the advantage over the other drivers, and traveling the world to compete. With 43 cars and 3 different regions to compete in--the US, Europe, and Japan--there's plenty to captivate adrenaline junkies. But that's not all: GRID also features an innovative "flashback" system, whereby you can rewind time a few crucial seconds to fix any sloppy driving or mistakes, avoid crashes, and generally gain the needed edge to win. With open wheel racing, demolition derbies, GT racing, there's plenty of variety in gameplay.

Real road courses such as Le Mans are in the game, as well as street circuits such as such as the Detroit and Washington D.C.. There are also a number of fictional tracks, such as street courses in San Francisco, and Milan, and Mount Haruna.

Is that enough to get your pulse pounding? Check out Race Driver: GRID this week for just $7.49--that's half off the full $14.99 price!

Grid? Yay! More racing goodness :D
More titles from Codemasters are always welcome here
it's a great game and all, but I was hoping that we'd get Codemasters' earlier racing titles on GOG. you know, the ones you can't get anywhere anymore.

I just got another copy of GRID for free with my GRID 2 pre-order, so...
I have a steam copy of this but the darn thing is so hard to get running on Win 7, so I might pick this up if it runs smooth on Win 7.
Is this the game with non-reassignable controls and a complete absence of any form of tutorial mode?
This is like totally unexpected :). Wishlisted for now ..

wut? never had a single issue with the game on W7, neither with a physical copy nor with the Steam edition. never heard of any compatibility problems, either. DIRT 1 apparently has problems, though I've never encountered any.

no, this the Codemasters racing game that many consider the best title of its kind in recent memory. also, a tutorial for a racing game? why?

Half the time the game wouldn't even start for me >_>
I had to fiddle with various files (including .dlls!) each time I started it up in order to get it to run and when it did it wasn't very stable either.
Might just be my luck of course :P
I don't like racing games too much, but glad to see this here. Still.... WHERE THE FUCK IS CARMAGEDDON 2 !?!?!
If you want this game, you should buy it now. It's another racing game that will disappear for sure at one point in the future.

could be anything - heck, I always considered myself thorough in updating everything but yesterday found out that I don't have the latest DirectX installed :) it helped A LOT (regarding performance in Van Helsing)
I'll have to pass on this one, having gotten a Steam copy from my GRID 2 preorder, but this is awesome! FWIW I never had any issues with GRID on W7 either. Hope to see more Codies racing games here!
