And they wanted to ban GTA, seriously
The lack of mouse aim is a pain but if you tab to lock onto a target it's not so bothersome...all in all a ridiculously fun killfest of a game..leaping into the air and dropkicking a chopper to death is amazingly cool fun
Dammit, now I don't like the game as much anymore. Stupid super soldiers, and the damn quick time events that comes with them. I've been so used to keeping my eyes either where I'm going or at what I'm attacking, now I'm going to have to point my eyes in some arbitrary location at the top of my screen, to check if I need to click 1,2,3,E or space, occasionally.
This game has QTEs?! Well, now I'm not so interested in trying this one day (as if the lack of a demo wasn't reason enough). The occasional QTE during a cutscene is sometimes bearable, but not as an actual part of gameplay.
The QTE's don't actually happen very often. They happen when you hijack a vehicle, or if a supersoldier grabs you. Usually you can stay out of range easily anyway.

Actually, it's only with supersoldiers and viral detectors. Hijacking is usually done with the same button/key, except for helicopters in wich you must jump from tail to wing to cockpit dependind on where you grabbed hold.
But they're not QTEs because they are LOGICAL, you use the jump button to leap, then strong attack to rip open the door/hatch :-P
Ah, that sounds more reasonable then. :)

At least in GTA 4, you would ponder your own life in a new land of dreams and you had to look into your heart and make your own choices. I'm surprised GTA 4 isn't required playing in ethics classes.

"What lesson did you learn today, children?"
"If we have a problem, we should blast it's head off"
My only complain with this game is that is incredibly SHORT! I must admit I skiped most of the "athletic checkpoint run" missions since they didn't provide any web of intrigue contacts, just like war and gliding ones too.
Since I was hooked by the story contained in the web, I tried my best to find them all (got it up to 65% or something like that). This is a game not unlike the max payne saga, where the mere act of having fun and getting involved with the story inevitably will make you finish it in one whole day or less, depending on your speed.
Still, I don't think it was a bad game, quite the opposite! It' s just that I wished they didn't rely on me having urges to go checkpoint hunting to boast my personal offline single player ego, wich is an artificial game stretcher IMO.
Every sandbox game usually has this same problem, they throw around options and side missions and just hope you go do them to keep you from the main plot missions :-P
Cheers!

TheCheese33: Prototype is a well-made game, but parts of it disturb me to no end. When you fire an assault rifle, the rounds sound more realilistic than most games, and the screams of civilians pierce the ears. When you pick a civilian up by the neck, listen to them plead for their lives, then throw them into a wall, seeing the blood splatter, hearing the head crush... This has to be the first game where I almost vomited while playing. Your guy with his tribal jacket and hoodie doesn't help diminish the feeling, either.

Other than that, it's Spider-Man meets The Hulk. Pretty decent running up buildings, gliding around, using your devastating powers to take out helicopters and tanks. Consuming people is a neat idea, and the way you absorb them somehow makes it feel less disturbing than it should be.

deathkitten: Poor baby.
I'm not a "poor baby", I'm actually retired and I live in a retirement home on the Faroe Islands. We do nothing except play Boggle and wait for the merciful pillow of time to suffocate us in our beds.

I'm going to need someone from outside of Germany to gift me this game, next month for GOGs. :)
