xxxIndyxxx: wow gamersgate sell it for 21€. What's going on here??
avatar
timppu: WTF? For me GamersGate says €29.74, which equals to $39,34 (compared to GOG.com's $33.99).

http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-SWARRIOR/shadow-warrior

And it is a mere Steam key anyway.

EDIT: So for some reason some europeons see it as 21€, others (like me) 29.74€. Odd, I didn't think Netherlands would belong to a lower regional pricing area than e.g. Finland. Or are you guys really that poor there?
Not really, but maybe they heard i lost my job (i am unemployed starting september...) so they might do it just for me :P

Gonchi: Oh joy, now we have pre-order exclusives too. How wonderful. I'm so glad.
Yeah that would suck, but a blue at least hinted already now that it wouldn't stay as a pre-order exclusive.

Are there many examples where a pre-order exclusive game content has never become available for purchase to others, ie. only the pre-order buyers could ever play it? At least on PC?

If they mean that the pre-order bonus is that you get that special content for free (while others will have to pay for it)... with that I don't have much of an issue. Albeit, it does sound a bit like a micro-DLC, just one item (weapon).

Anyways... Yeah, at this price I'd have to be pretty certain I want the game, so I won't be getting this as a preorder, I think. I will make an exception with the DRM-free CDPR games (The Witcher 3, and that cyberpunk game), I will probably buy them for full price as soon as the pre-orders come available on GOG. For the good cause!

Anyone who says there isn't humour in the game hasn't played the beta. Judging from Jesse Cox' playthrough of the first part at least.

$33,99 seems a bit steep though.

Wishlisted.
Is also 21.24€ on Steam... the regular version. The Special Edition, which contains two additional weapons and both artbook and soundtrack, is 29,74€. And another katana (not the one from the original game), just for pre-ordering on Steam.

So what version is GOG offering? Regular or Special Edition? Because for ~$35 you better offer the Special Edition.
Give me a week to think about preordering this. I did it for ROTT and was not disappointed (though the platforming was still ugh).

Maybe once more hands on previews come out?
Going to buying on here, just waiting a big discount for this. Trailer looks awesome.

soundtrack and wallpaper are included, but artbook is missing (but I think it will appear here too when exists :D)
Hum... I never liked Shadow Warrior that much (only finished it once without cheats, ridiculous compared to Duke3D), and the new one isn't even close to the original (based on the screenshots), so no thank you. At best, I'll buy it on a whim during a 75% discount or something.

I really enjoyed Shadow Warrior, but I want to see some more gamers' feedback on this one. Pre-Order and GOG doesn't blend for me.
Gamersgate and Steam have it for $33.99 where I'm from. And $42.49 for SE on Steam
Hard Reset was fantastic, this will probably be great too, but with my backlog I will have to wait a bit.
The graphics in the screenshots looks really professional, only the figures themselves push me off a bit, they look to much like from a horror movie. Probably not a game I want to play then.

This one will have to wait, there's few games I'm willing to pay full price for and that game doesn't seem to make the list.

I must say, btw, that I'm a little disappointed by the footage from the trailer. I was hoping they would kinda capture the spirit of the build engine games in a new way but the trailer suggests that this is gonna be pretty much Painkiller and Hard Reset (and maybe a little Dead Island?) with Asian stuff thrown in and as much as I LOVE Painkiller and like Hard Reset, that's not what I wanted to see in a new Shadow Warrior. Plus I'm getting tired of the Serious Sam/Painkiller formula. And as awesome as Hard Reset looked, it seems they didn't do quite as well with the organic designs and environments (although that in itself wouldn't keep me from buying the game).

Anyway, still hoping for the best, the game may certainly turn out to be a very solid and enjoyable gore fest, hopefully with a few aces up its sleeve.

I have the same approach as you now - not pre-ordering games in general (after Omerta) and not buying games on Steam. I will preorder Witcher 3 as soon as it will be available here and hopefully I will finish W2 before that :)
