In case anyone here was not aware, there might be means of getting a couple older games now, that as far as I know were previously unavailable (legally, that is).
Mechwarrior: Smith and Tinker just bought the rights to all the old Fasa series mech games from Microsoft, and have already approved Mechtek to give free copies of the Mech4 series (to be released, not out yet) so it is not unlikely that they may allow the Mech 2/Mech 3 series's available. It is at least worth looking into.
Daggerfall: Like Arena a couple years ago, Bethesda just released Daggerfall for free, with a link to DOSBOX instructions. While that is doable, I would prefer the hassle free version from here.
From there all we need is Wing Commander/ Tie Fighter/ and the Heretic/Hexen series and id be in nostalgia heaven! :)

Not to mention, it was suggested that GOG should pick them up way back when we were discussing the announcements of these games being made available for free a month or two ago.

I know about the wanted section, I had voted there as well.
I actually hadn't been on this site in quite some time, and was mentioning to a RL friend Mech4 and Daggerfall and thought I should make mention here, as the GOG fans would probably want to know. Just trying to throw some info out there for people, admittidly, I kinda live under a rock these days and should have assumed everyone here knew about it already.

No they didn't. They were just different. I don't know about MechCommander 2, but MC1 was decent

Hey thanks for being glad for me :P. Nah but seriously, they were decent. I enjoyed games like Myth back then, so I didn't find MechComm too shabby

Maybe I'll download MC and give it a go again.
Myth was good I just didn't like the preset limit on your army for each battle. That's what drives me crazy about Universe at War is the unit cap. But I love the game because it's unique.
hey, i cant stand the request feature... not that its bad or anything but its flooded with stupid things that wouldn't work like new games or console exclusive games. Plus if you want a rather unheard of game then... well your not going to get it, Because nobody else is going to vote.
For instance: Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood. A great game nobody played, which truly belongs on here. you look it up on requests and you have around 61 votes when a game like system shock 1 and 2, a game we know we cant have due to licensing, gets 7151
but then again, how else would they decide what the community REALLY wants?

Double edged swords are fun, especially to juggle with. What they need is a VALID choice system. They give us 5 games to choose from for next Thursdays big release and allow the looser (or differently adept) games to integrate over time.
