That tidbit is something I learned from a thread on here just a few days ago. I had been using the client before. It seems like some games need the client, but most, like this one, don't.

I could be wrong, but I think they're trying to implement non-client, direct downloads, for every game they offer. It's a nice gesture of them, really. I personally don't mind the client, mostly because it allows me to do everything in one place, but I understand the appeal of not having your game tied down to anything.

Well, at least they're trying. However, after skimming through the comments for Wonderlust, I have to agree that the fact that an online authentication is required should really be mentioned somewhere on the games' pages. Along with system requirements...Come on, Desura! ¬¬

to be precise with wanderlust you have to stay online even after authentication to play singleplayer (and especially playing with other people)

Ok, thanks. A pity you didn't manage to get them. I think the next time I'll just run a contest no matter how small the gifts are, just to make sure they're not harvested by some kind of bot or something but nice and polite people like yourself.
