GOGwiiisfun: I don't think that it is, but I'm not sure. What model is it (DS, DS lite, DSi) ?
avatar
Tarnicus: I just asked her and she said its a DS. She's also very interested in that game but doesn't know if games from overseas will work as she's never bought one from overseas. I'll do a little research before purchasing :)
I should work then.

GOGwiiisfun: Yes, after a little bit of research I agree with this.
I have bought DS games all over the world they all work fine on my PAL DS

Tarnicus:
get measured laying down then - adds three or four inches at yer size so she cant complain anymore! :O

Stooner: The DS games are region-locked too.. So you'll need one of the same region, unless we are talking about a 3DS..
also, there's no "Okami" for DS, it is "Okamiden" ;p
Cheers I just noticed that on the ebay listing :) From what I've read DS games aren't region locked. I'll find out either way when Okami Den arrives :)

Stooner: It is also on Wii and PS3 (and there's another one in the Nintendo DS).
The PS2 version was just the 1st release, and the one I played. .p
Okami is brilliant, have that on the PS2 too (as well as the 5-CD soundtrack import from Japan). That, Katamari, Persona 3 and the Fatal Frame games are about all I keep it around for now.

Sorry about that region-locked thing, it was a mistake on my part...
I hope Okamiden is as good as Okami is. ;p

Amazing!
I also liked Persona, but only played the 4th and the original on PS1 I guess... ;p

Persona 4 has a number of similarities to Persona 3, though there are a few major differences too. Persona 3 took me literally almost a year to play through (though it wasn't all I did, or even the only game I played). By the end I didn't want to see another Persona game for a long while. :)

My favourite of the Shin Megami Tensei series is Nocturne. One of the few stand-alones from that series of games, with no real sequels or side stories. Great game world, and pretty damn eerie.

hehehe

Well, I have yet to try a few of the SMT games on PS2.. but I remember playing one on the DS (Devil Survivor, I think), and enjoying too... ...until they f* stole my DS! ;p

I've never had a console beyond a Playstation 1 (MunkiSiren and I have 3 between us lol, sitting in boxes, unused) and an Xbox. She is keen to get an Xbox 360 and I wouldn't mind having a Playstation 2 about for some awesome RPGs (that aren't on other platforms). Given emulation these days and controller support on PCs, I wonder if it is even worthwhile grabbing a Playstation 2?

PCSX 2 isn't near perfect at all. You'll need one monster of a PC to run most of those games PCSX 2 at fullspeed, without any speedhack activated.

That and there are graphic glitches in a lot of games, that are annoying to find fixes for. PS2 is still worth using, even if games look better on an emulator.

Not to mention that pirating stuff isn't cool unless you literally can't buy it.

I've got a few PSX & PS2 games that has never been in an PSX/2 :D.
