It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

DyNaer: no you won't , widows security essentials has nothing to do with windows xp security update:

SirEyeball: OK what can happen if I don't switch?
Supposedly breaks and software bugs found in newer OS can be run backwards and found compatible with XP users. They're going to stop making updates to the OS, and effectively begin revealing bugs and exploits I believe for the OS anyway.

buckstone: same as win95 has had happen
Even Windows 98 continues to get updated. :P

you won't get anymore windows updates, which leads to some security breaches, which ain't covered by windows security essentials (which is more or less an antivirus / antispywares)

QC, detailed better the issue than myself :)

yes but will that break my XP or leave it wide open for hackers? I don't get it why do there need to be continuing updates for it to function it functions quite well now ?

There are open vulnerabilities that hackers barely wait to exploit. Some are simply waiting for Microsoft to shut the door on the updates, then all hell will break loose. :P Consider a popular Linux distro or an upgrade to your hardware/software stack.

Windows Security Essentials is a POS...Windows itself is a security breach :P There are much easier ways to protect one's computer(even using Windows) than WSE :)
