IronStar: Partially. Still making 2nd account is a bit of overkill :P

EDIT: If only your son did it.... :D

lugum: he has 10 accounts.
No, not that part xD

BTW, is Syberia good?

iainmet: Base64 Decode, had that game on my wishlist for a while now, was waiting for a price drop. Thanks :)

IronStar: Enjoy :)
Certainly will, love old school shooters. I still fire up the Amiga Emulator to play Xenon 2, X Out and loads of others from that era.

"The person who gift it to me says it's a great game, you should grab it if you can !"
avatar
IronStar: That's why you can encode gift code so script gets screwed :)
Yep, that's exactly what I would (and actually already did) encourage people to do. Since apparently some people (who might not even be members of this community) are lame enough to grab codes with scripts, leaving others no chance, the best solution is to write the code in a way that the script can't process it.

If you want to keep it easy, you can spell out how the code must be read ("Attention: This code is spelled backwards", or "Note: The third character in this code should be an A, not a C as listed". This doesn't change the nature of the game, but is extremely difficult for scripts to handle.

THIS.....if you dislike a tool or method someone is using in an event and want to prevent them from using such and/or beating everyone else in the event with said tool or method then find ways to correct the "problem" you perceive.

All this complexity for gifting games defeat the very purpose of gifting games :S
What needs to be done is post pictures with the codes hand-written... like doc's doing.
No copy-paste...

IMO, using script to get free codes is not much different from piracy. Hell we are here to have some fun, and feel better after giving away some things, not to give it to bot user. I'm fine with new user getting the game as long as he plays it if he gets it and as he is fastest ninja around...

I condanm piracy when other means are available.. But if what afnor is saying is true then it's much worse than piracy... it's grabbing not to play but to make profit.
It changes everything...
Piracy is about taking for free, but here they might very well be re-selling the games for cheap... and this is not acceptable.

scripts prevents several people from getting a game they want to play. piracy wont stop anyone from that. ;)

Playing Devil's Advocate here, but how do we know they are selling the games? Did someone let something leak or what?
