Also, good to note that some bots appear to be malfunctioning or offline, decent rate of legit ninja today! Still, more obfuscation would be better.

Braussie: Bots are simply software programs that follow a certain automated protocall.

Someone can create a program that looks for certain critera (ie: series of letters and numbers resembling a Steam code's format). It will then automatically copy that code, and interface with the steam software activation, paste it, and submit it. There are also scripts that can do things like that as well.

How are going GOG mods to disable it.
The only way i could think of is ban on the user. That is if you can detect that one user use such a script at first place...

Nope. Not any more than they can disable microsoft word from opening on your computer. In regards to GOG, the bots are only accessing information readily available on a webpage, just as you and I can manually see/find. The rest is local on the computer.

It's like this- GOG's site is like a book... You can read the pages, then when you come across a code hidden in there, you type the code in steam. Someone else creates a machine that can identify codes on the pages 100 times faster than you can read. It then writes the code in steam.

Either way- GOG is only a book. It cannot control what is done with the information inside.
