IronStar: So it's like driving school or...?
Also,how does driving part look like? Here, it is basically driving car around for ~10 minutes, and not doing anything stupid in process.
1st time I managed to fail by cutting zebra crossing while changing lane. -.-'
Luckily, no similar issues on the 2nd try, so now I'm happily waving around w/ my driving license :D

glad you got it on the second try ;) hope eventually i can try again too.
Whoops, completely forgot about parking part. We have it here too, it's just we do it before we start driving on the road.
Seems much harder than here. As my instructor stated at some point, it's not the matter will you do something wrong, even I would if i had enough time, it's more of will you do it in time for them to see it.

I hope you will get it on your next try/ :)

DProject: From what I've gathered from Spoony's reviews, the whole Ultima series is the most over-rated thing ever. Granted, the guy's a comedian and I guess the series made way for what the RPG genre nowadays is, but still... I have no desire to play any Ultima game ever. They might be classics, but to me they just look silly, and haven't aged well at all. So don't feel bad lugum!

(I am interested to hear opposing opinions if anyone has any!)

Psyringe: Ultima 1-3 are run-of-the-mill "kill the big baddie" stories, not much to write home about. They were great during their time, but indeed havenÄ't aged well.

Ultima 4-7 are epic fantasy games mixed with philosophy, in a way that has never been tried before or after. The graphics have aged, and the NPC interaction has aged - the philosophy, and the way it permeates these games, hasn't. This is what made them classics, and what makes them outshine many newer games with much higher production values.

Ultima 8 and 9 were the attempt to attract a new audience by going away from the elements that made 4-6 stand out, and they were pretty much failures, though U8 can be seen as enjoyable in its own, not-quite-Ultima-esque, way.
That's what everyone says. I guess I can appreciate 4-7 for what they've done to the genre. I still don't want to play them today, though :P
And for 8-9: at least Spoony seems to think EA happened, when they made those games. Especially with 9, the whole game seems to be a mockery of the entire series, and it looks like the devs didn't know anything about the lore so far. Once again, I've never played the series, but watching the review of 9, one sentence summarizes the whole thing perfectly: "You shall have great knowledge of the land". The irony is amazing. Especially when the avatar asks at one point "What's a paladin?"
