You don't need the Dersura client running in order to play *correction* Maybe you do... there is an offline mode - haven't tried that out though. In addition, I thought that DRM free installers are being added to some, if not all, of the games on sale there.

I just tried a few games. When launched from the shortcuts in my start menu, Desura launched as well, but when I launched the games directly from their folder, Desura stayed put. So I can confirm that no, the client doesn't need to be running to play. :)

BTW, they have many free games, you may want to check that out.

Stand alone downloads, I heard that too. I don't mind the client though, so I wouldn't know.
