Azilut: Even if it was him, that's not the point. If we start ganging up on every new user on the basis of how their name is spelled, or what country their IP is from, then this community is going to get a reputation for being unfriendly to newcomers. I think that'd be a real shame, and a higher price than deterring one obnoxious scammer is worth.
I agree that the scenario you presented would be worse than the Wakalo problem, but as far as I know, it hasn't happened yet. The guy's made several obvious posts using various other accounts and been called on it. There's still a large gap between THAT and the worst case scenario you're fearful of happening, especially since it IS him, so in this instance, it would be the point.
I definitely agree that ganging up on new users is a terrible idea, but this one only happened because he actively sought it out. Had he not jumped into every topic talking about Wakalo, I doubt people would have come down on him in the way that they did.
